Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
To me it seems like that was exactly what he was criticizing. They gave up a potential lottery pick, or at least a pick in the teens, in a loaded draft to acquire a non star.

Well, he said playerS, so I assume he means Evans as well.

Even so, Holiday is 23 and coming off of an all-star game. I don't understand why people seem to think he's plateaued. I'm of the opinion that team is going to be pretty solid this year and should make the playoffs.

I think they'll be solid too, but they're sort of capped off at solid unless Anthony Davis becomes a top 10 NBA player (which is possible). Jrue Holiday is coming off an All Star berth that he didn't really deserve, but he's decent.

I don't see this core ever competing for a championship. And if that's the end goal, their rebuild is looking sketchy. I can see this Cavs core contending in a couple years as is..

My point is that those players are not the type that can bring you over the top. That is the point if a rebuild. Not just acquire young players.

Jrue is an okay pg. He was lucky to be an all star last year since d rose and rondo were injured.

From Jason Lloyd's pregame notes - http://www.ohio.com/blogs/cleveland...-1.275356/cavs-vs-nets-pregame-notes-1.441067

* Bynum was on the practice floor this morning without any knee braces (it was only a shootaround) and working out with Vitaly Potapenko, Anderson Varejao and Tristan Thompson. Not sure how he’ll play once he returns, but he looks terrific.

* So does Thompson’s shot, by the way. Thompson ended practice Tuesday making 3-pointer after 3-pointer. His right-handed release already looks polished and like he’s been shooting that way all his life. He has good arc and rotation on it, not like the side-spinning, left-handed shot from past years.

Bold prediction: Thompson will attempt and make a 3-pt shot in his first game of the season, and the crowd will go wild.

Then Bynum will come in and drain one too. The crowd will die of excitement.

It will take these forums months to replenish the number lost on this day.

There is nothing short of Kyrie we could offer that would make New Orleans think about trading Davis.

True. I'll tell ya ...Davis looks great. That kid is gonna make some serious noise in this league very very soon. Won't be too long before he's deemed the best big in league, hands down.

Ugh, it is so painful knowing we lost the coin flip that would have netted us Anthony Davis. I would trade all of Waiters, Bennett and Thompson to get our hands on this guy.

Really makes you wonder what took him so long to decide to make the change. I can't figure it out. Was talking with Chones, Campy, AC about it around the start of camp, and to all of us it was so clear from the very beginning that his better hand was his right, and that is in terms of touch and feel for Tristan. His left is stronger, but when it comes to shooting ..his right hand is far far superior.

We actually won the coin flip.

Yep.. would've been sweet to get Davis..

Anyway, I really think TT is going to have a big year. What's his chances at MIP?
I thought he should have won it last year.

Is the MIP award meant for most improvement from one year to the next, or improvement over the course of the season? Because he had a good case for the second scenario last year. Hopefully he improves even more to make an argument for the 2013-14 season.

In each scenario I think he improved more than Paul George. PG kind of became the it player last year, but when you look at his production it didn't go up a ton and he was actually less efficient than the previous year given the increase in minutes. Tristan went from a guy that looked lost and awkward on the court to a double double machine.
