Dwight Powell - F/C (signed)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: #45: Dwight Powell - F/C - Stanford University (Traded to CLE)

Clearly, we are looking at a team that can shoot at all positions. Looking bleak for TT, imo.

His jumper is quick and wet.

Hopefully, this kid will add some weight and be able to play down on the block.

This team looks very perimeter oriented right now, AB and Wiggins need to develop a post game in a hurry

I expect we'll see some trades and free agent moves to address that. I also wouldn't be surprised if Bennett is working hard in the post leading into the Summer League.

Interesting..Griff apparently looks at players in the second round more indepth and tries to find some fillers instead of trading out of the round or stashing players overseas we may never see.

The team looks a but more balanced. Your two guards are slashers and like to score inside, your new SF is a slasher also. He will need to improve his putside shooting and his handle.

The Cavs lacked shooters, they may be getting some.

Yeap. I thought CG's hate towards 2nd rounders is absurd.

As a Canadian living in Cleveland, this is starting to feel like home. Couldn't be more pleased :) haha

Re: #45: Dwight Powell - F/C - Stanford University (Traded to CLE)

So we add 2 more Canadians and 2 more white guys. Are we trying to take over Utah and be the "whitest" team in the NBA?

Powell don't look 100% white to me.

Re: #45: Dwight Powell - F/C - Stanford University (Traded to CLE)

It doesn't matter how you score inside or outside. All that matters is that you can. Before we couldn't. We have guards who like to score inside, so it was important that we get some players who can shoot from the outside to space the floor and give our guards room to get inside. We did. We had a GREAT DRAFT.

Re: #45: Dwight Powell - F/C - Stanford University (Traded to CLE)

I would imagine that this means Zeller is gone?

Or Hawes isn't coming back. One of the two.

I can't imagine that we're going to let a guy we pick at #45 dictate our roster moves.

Re: #45: Dwight Powell - F/C - Stanford University (Traded to CLE)

He looks like a PF to me, unless you want to go small in certain situations. 6'11 234 with 7'0.5" wingspan and 8'9" standing reach. He looks very mobile and athletic.

Both of our 2nd rounders can shoot, pass, and are noted for having high b-ball IQs. Who knows if they can make it in the NBA, but it's a clear indication of what type of player we want.

Re: #45: Dwight Powell - F/C - Stanford University (Traded to CLE)

It saves money that we would have thrown at Frye.

Re: #45: Dwight Powell - F/C - Stanford University (Traded to CLE)

This was my guy.... Thought it would have been a reach to take him in round 1, especially where they were picking--- so didn't want to say anything....but they got him....
