Kyrie Irving

Francis couldn't do anything with Yao and Marbury couldn't do anything with KG. Unlike those guys, Kyrie had TT to carry the load...

I dont consider showing where a guy needs to improve or where they struggled as hating.

Just cause we don't think Irving is the second coming or that we would rather have CP3 over him for the next 3-5 years doesn't make us haters.

Hating a player is quite different then critiquing a player. I've posted before that Irving is most offensively gifted young player in terms of skillset I've seen. Doesn't mean I also don't think that he has big holes in his game

Have you read through this thread?

Asks the guy who joined May 2014 to the guy with over 8,000 posts who joined in 2011.

Critiques and debates about players are welcome in player threads. Better get used to it....

Omg can we cut this empty stat shit out. If Love on the Wooves scores a point with a minute left of a blowout it doesn't mean shit cause Wolves suck. But when Love hits a shot with a minute left in a blowout, for the Cavs it's adding to his legacy cause were a good team?

A point is a point. Everybody who scores for Utah isn't worthless just cause the team isn't good.

Empty stats is a pet peeve of mine cause everyone goes out there and plays hard, to say that some dudes sweat and energy doesn't mean shit is just silly to me.

Not going at anybody specifically with this one, I just think it's a silly thing to be basing an argument off of

No ones ever suggested he's the second coming and no ones suggesting your a hater because you want cp3 for 3 to 4 years over kyrie. If you actually read through this thread and read the nonsense that's has been written you would understand why we are calling some people in this thread haters.

wuck edit: no personal attacks

It's not a bad team thing, it's that Love literally opts to not contest drives into the lane so that he can be positioned to get the rebound.

Next 4 years Kyrie or CP3? Hmmm that's a hard one. I think their offensive skills could both help us. But I'll give Kyrie an edge because iv seen him be a facilitator and he's very good at it. But he's also a 30 point threat every game with ease. I don't think Paul is that guy.

If you told me Kyrie wouldn't get any better on D I'd take Paul cause I'm fairly confident he could get us a ring faster. But I see Kyrie getting better on D as fast as this year so I'd take Kyrie........and I mean, it's Kyrie c'mon

It's not a debate to me when you constantly come into a thread calling a player overated and average without any reasons why.

And it doesn't matter if I joined in May. I can still read through this thread and have an opinion like the guy who joined in 2011.

If you don't like what another poster has to say, then put them on Ignore (through Settings). If the moderators feel a poster is out of line, or if they are trolling, we will warn them and ban them if it continues.

dude you reposted my thread and said "sigh" then followed up haters in the woodwork.

In effect calling me out and diminishing my own post and several others as generically as possible.

refuting a post by labeling someone or a group of people as a hater, homer whatever other adjective you want to use doesnt really do anything for the discussion.

maybe you dont come to the same conclusion with the stats i used.. maybe you dont recognize the stats.. then refute by all means express your opinion . but have one opposed to "haters..bad""

Irving has been groomed to say the right things to the media since he was five. His play speaks far more to his mindset then anything he might say in a postgame interview in general.

Irving needs to improve his team ball play on the ofensive end or put more effort on the defensive end.

preferably both but either will get him back on track to winning his efficiency matchups.

one nice thing about having Lebron james is that Waiters can take the bigger threat from the opposing teams backcourt. You will stll have teams like Golden state that have can generate offense from both guards.. thats when problems will arise.

Edit In response to Cavsinengland

Problem - Kyrie suffered major setback winning efficiency matchups against his counter parts last season

Reason: Kyrie was not protected by Anthony Parker or Dion waiters on the defensive end as he was in prior season

Reason: Irving wasnt taking advantage of team play oppurtunties making him less efficient

Reason CJ miles who was moved to the backcourt with Irving didnt protect Irvings defensive assignments.

Reason : Scott's defensive attempts to mask Irving deficiencies only led to less effective team defense. Brown's only tried to protect Irving as far as his defensive scheme would allow there for team defense was not compromised and Irving defensive flaws were not maksed.

also when you have your small forward (Gee) guarding the opponents pgwhenever the opposing teams small forward for 2nd tier starting point guards it really speaks volumes to how bad your guys is doing.

sources. 82 games.com and hoopstats.com

I can also regurgitate the dozen or so NBawowy Models used to track Irvings team defense but im sure you read all those since you have stated such familiarity with every post in this thread

I anticipate your counterpoints.

One more thing: you are welcome to report any individual posts you feel are offensive or entirely out of line, and the mods will take a look. Please use this feature only when necessary since it sends email to every admin+mod. No need to cry wolf, in other words.

I don't see anything in the above posts by Homer Safari that is out of line or against RCF rules. His posts are actually a LOT kinder to Kyrie than some posters are to other players with the initials DW. :chuckles:

Mate. I replied to a post that said "looks like the kyrie Irving haters are back" by saying its sad that he has haters in the first place. I wrote sigh because it was yet another post criticising kyrie. I might be a little biased towards kyrie because I started watching basketball and supporting the cavs in his rookie year. I also remember the love he got constantly in his second year and to see the amount of people/cavs fans call him overrated, average, ask for him to get traded just because he had one poor season annoys me. However I understand everyone has their opinions and I apologise if I've come on to strong in this thread.
