2014 Free Agency Period: News and Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We apparently are trying to get Zoran Dragic.

Unlikely the Cavs can compete since all they can offer is a minimum contract.

Phoenix Suns among those pursuing Goran Dragic's brother

The Suns could become even more of a family business.

Having already teamed Markieff and Marcus Morris, the Suns are among six teams giving consideration to signing Zoran Dragic for the coming season.

The Suns have expressed interest in Goran Dragic's younger brother, along with Cleveland, Dallas, Indiana, Sacramento and San Antonio. Zoran Dragic, 25, is supposed to report this weekend for his new contract extension with Spanish club Unicaja Malaga but he does have an NBA escape clause to leave this year. It includes a $1.1 million buyout, of which an NBA team could contribute a maximum of $600,000.

Because he was undrafted in 2011, there is no limit on what a salary for the younger Dragic could be. His salary would need to be more than $2 million to justify sacrificing $500,000 of his own money in the buyout and walking away from a Malaga contract that would pay him about $1.4 million this year, along with most of his living expenses.

Zoran, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard, just teamed with Goran to helped 13th-ranked Slovenia reach the World Cup quarterfinals before losing to the United States. Zoran averaged 12.9 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 26.3 minutes per game of seven World Cup contests. He shot 50 percent from the field, including 43 percent from 3-point range.

Zoran can be similar to watch as a relentless worker with a left-handed stroke but he has a better defensive reputation than does Goran, and is bigger.

Zoran's presence in Phoenix would be a considerable help to the Suns' hopes of retaining Goran next year, when he can become a free agent, but Goran already has expressed a desire to remain with the Suns. Adding Zoran would also further load up a Suns backcourt that already has Goran, Isaiah Thomas, Gerald Green, Archie Goodwin, Tyler Ennis and, it is assumed, Eric Bledsoe.

Zoran averaged 10.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists with 43 percent shooting last season for Malaga.

I'd be so thrilled if i see Blatt turns an Europe Guy into a NBA role player. Blatt's knowledge of European Basketball will come in handy in these scouting of European players if we think we can use
Damjan Rudez was the one of the guys as a bench strech-4 he tried to get but Larry Bird got him first.
Rudy Gobert(drafted) kickin ass in FIBA in French squad. Blocking shots, getting rebounds, dunks... It would be just sweet if we get a guy from there to play that role. Very unlikely though
We'll see what happens.

Neither of those are very assuring. I think your undervaluing Noah a bit, his productivity went up greatly last year with Rose out and the only dip he had was in his FG%. He's a solid player and he'd abuse Love inside. Andy would be a pest for Gasol inside, but Pau stepping out of the paint frees up a lot of space the Bulls didn't really have before (Boozer shot plenty from mid-range but teams don't respect him like they do Gasol).

Just to be more specific, teams that defended the Bulls in tight games all just collapsed in the paint and let Rose play hero ball. To his credit when he was healthy, Rose still handled it well but good defensive teams like Miami were able to contain it. IF Ray were to go there, that gives them 2 players in him and Pau that you have to guard and both will leave the paint. Add either Doug McDermott or Mike Dunleavy and again you have another shooter that has to be accounted for. Guarding the Bulls next year will be a different beast than it ever was in the past, and adding Ray Allen to that isn't a good thing. This obviously comes with the assumption that Rose will be descent and heathy come playoff time, which no one can answer right now.

As for Ray Allen's defense, I think any team concerned about would rotate him in and out of the lineup with the game on the line - so I don't think it'd make or break the Bulls just like it wouldn't the Cavs. At the end of games, he'll be a situational player for any team he's considering, and even if he's on the court they'll rotate him accordingly.
Oh please Noah will not abuse shit inside. He's a garbage ponts player. I'm totally comfy with TT on him one on one......Love is just a better bet

Just hoping Rich Paul doesn't turn Tristian's fa situation into Bledsoe's 'i want max' type of thing.
I don't want to overpay Tristian while we still talk about his height and his playing time. Oh we have the best pf, right?
I woudn't hesitate to trade him if he wants a big deal

Great signing. Their team is pretty solid. I don't think the Bulls are much better than the Heat, if at all.

The Heat SCARE me, man. They are STACKED. We have plucked the greatest player in the game from them, but they won't miss a beat!

They can definitely score on us and they'll be able to defend us well, but they're gonna get destroyed on the boards. That's the one huge advantage we have over them (besides Lebron)

Can we get anything close to this I will be happy.

Why not Blatche
Miami can only offer him vet min

He could make himself useful taking Andy's mins
