I don't think we're disliked. I mean, of all places, why dislike Cleveland? We're a nobody compared to people from big markets.

I think it's just a lack of respect, majority of the time, that these talking heads from ESPN, or other national writers have for us as a city/sports town. And none of them ever seem to understand, just because you play in Cleveland, doesn't mean you have to live there either!

82 games a year, 41 on the road, it's not like they have a lot of time on their hands, where living in a specific area within a NBA season really is that big of a deal.

I just never understand that argument when it comes to why a player wouldn't want to come here. When we sucked, I think that's why they didn't want to come here.

I mean, it's just a damn sport, but they make it seem like you have a fatal disease if someone actually lives there for any length of time.

It just shows how arrogant, petty, and overall how truly ignorant people are.

Most people are just assholes.

Anytime I meet anyone from the East coast, or West coast, and tell them where I'm from. I always get a puzzled look on their face, with their expression thinking "hmmm that sucks".

But not everyone is the same, I actually like living in Northeast Ohio. I don't want it to be warm all the time. I enjoy how beautiful it is outside during fall, and hell, even winter in enjoyable to me.

:O
I'm not from Ohio but damn didn't know it was that bad :/
How bad could it be

Two points:
1) Miami had no winning, until LeBron went there, and then they started winning;
2) The San Francisco Bay Area is an awfully big market.

Other than that, I like your post...

Miami won a title in 2005, five years before LeBron ever showed up. They purposely kept their cap clean for a couple years after, and still made the playoffs while biding their time until the summer of 2010.

So kinda hard to say they had no winning until Lebron went there, they won 47 games in 2009-10. The Heat made the playoffs 6 out of 7 years before Lebron/Bosh even played a minute for the team.

As much as i try not to get too hung up on what some talking head asshat on the tele says, I still, after two years can't help but feel this surge of schadenfreude and glee when watching Cuban completely shut Skip down on national television.

This was really good. I love when Cuban calls out Steven A and shows how everyone got the narrative about LeBron wrong. "Just hit some basketball analysts". They should get coach Nick from basketball offense. Lol

Umm...

Miami won the championship for the 2005-06 season, and made two straight conference finals.
Miami missed the playoffs once during Wade's tenure before LeBron showed up, and even then that was an injury-plagued season for Wade and the Heat in general.

Were they as dominant as they were during the Big Three Era? Of course not. But to say that they didn't win anything until LeBron got there is just wrong.

Okay, we really don't need anyone defending the Miami Heat. Does it really bother you if they're being trashed and it isn't totally accurate? Who cares?

It doesn't bother me, but it just makes us look like dumb homers. Sure, it's our forum, we can be homers, I guess, but not all of us are interested in that.

Critical thinking is what sets this board apart from most others. I appreciate how a lot of posters on here practice critical thinking rather than one-line, uneducated posts that hold no real weight.

Okay, okay, okay. I was exaggerating a little. They did some winning. But no championships for 5 years, and the one they GOT was tainted!

This isn't just a pure homer board. It's about thought out, intelligent discussion and about backing up opinions with facts and well thought out arguments. If you don't like either then I would recommend registering at CavFanatic or the Cavs RealGM board.

i laugh every time I see the title of this thread, please dont change it..

But I will literally pay someone five bucks if they can think of an actual nickname thats in use that is whiter than "the menace"

They won when Shaq was there, but once Shaq fell off and eventually was traded they failed to win a playoff series for 3 straight seasons until Lebron signed in 2010. After the decline of Shaq prime Wade had nothing but first round exits, low-mediocre playoff seeds, and missed playoffs.

Amazing how quickly people forget about how good Shaq was.

Take the Shaq & Miami championship talk to another thread.

I understand correcting inaccurate information, but it's been corrected & at this point it's becoming completely irrelevant in the Kevin Love thread.
