Cavs Interested in Kosta Koufos

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
i still cant believe how badly we got raped in the salary dump for lebron

we gave boston zeller AND a 1st just to take salary...zeller is playing good now

philly is getting 2nds to take on on $$$$$

of course id rather have lebron than tyler but i have to think griffin got butt raped by ainge

zeller is having a good year
Are we honestly still complaining about this trade? There was literally nothing else we could have done. If we decided to wait it out then there was a chance LeBron went back to Miami due to our inability to clear space.

Get over it.

Again though, with Dion, it's not just about playing well. He's a scorer and he's going to have bad games & bad shooting nights.

It's how he responds & acts when he has those types of nights that are just as, if not more, important than how he plays and will play a bigger impact as to if he stays or not.

zeller deal was terrible.

if he absolutely had to go, then you just send him to the lakers who would gladly accept him without a 1st rd pick attached.

You have absolutely no basis for this statement. We needed the space everyone knew it, not much we could do. Also what is the big deal giving up a late first rounder.

Eh, I'm not sold at all on Zeller being the big we need. Boston's bigs for the last few years have a tendency of getting bloated stats. They pretty much get boards and points based on being bigger. Sullenger, Olynyk and Bass are nowhere near good enough to start on any team but they're getting decent stats on that team. Shit, Kris Humpheries played well when he got minutes in Boston.

Wasn't it a top 10 protected?

So the Cavaliers traded a rotational big man and what will be a late 1st round pick to clear cap space that would eventually lead to signing LeBron James, which in turn led to the additions of Kevin Love, Shawn Marion, and Mike Miller, which led to the Cavaliers going from a lottery team to a championship contender...and people are pissed off about that????

I can't believe anyone is truly pissed off about it.

But having Zeller on this team would really, really help our frontcourt.

Yeah it just hurt to give up 3 assets to get rid of Jarret Jack. Boston got a really great deal. Would have loved to pick up a productive big to take on Marcus Thornton for one year during our rebuild.

Does Kosta defend?

I don't get the intrest unless he does

They spent 4 years acquiring assets to do just what we needed to do. I'm not even thinking twice about what they gave up because it's nothing in the grand scheme of things. Maybe if we were still a lottery or middle tier team I'd fret it, but now we used those assets to acquire the players we have now..

The organization pulled things off exactly as how I think they should have. Sometimes I think people are a little too greedy or still in the mode where we have to horde all these assets to try and get something. We still have a lot of good assets, but you're going to have to give up some and maybe a little more to do what they did over the summer. No two ways about it.

He's athletic enough that Memphis has given him time at the 4 next to Gasol. He's supposedly very quick on his feet.

He may be quick on his feet and this may not be relevant anymore but he was softer then Charmin at OSU. He was strictly an offensive player who HATED being in the post.

He's improved a lot since his days at OSU. He really turned a corner when he was in Denver.

Koufos is a gigantic guy. He's actually slightly taller than Haywood is from what I can tell.

The only big men we might face in the playoffs who are physically larger/taller than Koufos are the Gasol brothers. Unless Hibbert and the Pacers make the postseason.

The biggest weakness I can see for Koufos from trying to track down his measurements is that it seems he has relatively short arms for his height. His standing reach is apparently somewhere around 9.0 feet. Tristan Thompson has about a 9 foot 1 inch standing reach for comparison.

Still, Koufos is 265 pounds and is averaging 2.0 blocks per 36 minutes this year. He can play some defense and he's only 25 years old even though he's been in the league for 6 seasons already.

Koufos is a lot taller than someone like Okafor, and he's bigger and younger. He's also healthier and doesn't seem to have a lot of injury issues.

Unless we can get Mozgov, Koufos looks like the best big man we may be able to realistically target this year. And he would certainly help us put some height and bulk in the paint on defense.
