Cavs Interested in Kosta Koufos

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I have the feeling we could've already had Koufos if we were willing to give Memphis their pick back. I'm probably wrong.

I would guess that this is all being pushed out there by his agent.
I would not give Memphis their pick for him, we need to think about the future aswell.

You guys are both onto something. You know one guy we could have easily had, but skipped out on was Steven Adams. He would have been fucking perfect, especially learning all of the tricks that were passed on from Z, to Andy, to....... Tristan I guess?

Thompson does a lot of little things, he's still awkward as fuck at times, but he's netting you positive gains playing extremely unselfishly. He's Rich Paul's guy, he's here to stay.

I think we're thinking about a guy like Steven Adams being available to us with that Memphis pick; and that guy could be locked up on a rookie deal for 4+ years under this current CBA.

If we were to give them back their pick and get Kosta, would the jump in price paying for Kosta be justified, relative to how much he's actually producing? Or do you go the route of drafting the young guy on the cheaper pay scale.

Right now, I think we just need a big body down there to challenge shots. Andy, Love and Tristan all are mediocre or worse challenging layups. We really need that big guy, is it possible we can get him on a rookie deal? Even a guy like Jusuf Nurkic would be just what we need right now.

The Cavs are being real Slovenians with their money, and I don't blame them. When you get into these super-team situations, you have to get some juice for every asset you own. The game is won in inches, and you have to get maximum value per dollar.

I guess I'll just never forget the time we traded that first round draft pick to acquire Jiri Welsch. FUCK! That still haunts me to this day. We cannot afford even one episode of some stupid shit like that happening to us, ever again, or no championship for you!

Koufos had 16 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks tonight in just 17 minutes of playing time against the Spurs. I hope we figure out how to get this guy.

Further complicating matters is the fact that we extended Andy for 10 million per when it looks as if many of his qualities that made him so useful are fully in decline (non-stop energy, finishing, positional defending). Hard not to do so since it's Andy, but damn...couldn't we have just put up a statue of him and his hair and call it even?

Brewer has gone to Houston. Rockets traded for him.

Good points. TT is also very close to Kyrie.

Earlier in the season a member of the media asked Lebron if the Cavs needed a rim protector. Lebron said no and then rattled off a bunch of teams that didn't have a rim protector and won the finals. I think he included the Bulls in the 90's, some of the Spurs teams, then the Heat the last few seasons. There were a couple of others. He was correct then. This Cavs team still needs more time to gel.

Officially off of the ledge.

Lebron is usually right, but he was wrong on that one. The ONLY exception to this rule is the 2012-2013 Miami Heat....which barely scrapped by thanks to one of the GOATs in his prime playing well.....in 2013 Miami was lucky to beat the Spurs and in 2012 Miami was fortunate OKC had no center themselves so it was a good matchup.

The Bulls had a very good center in Horace Grant at his peak was a 15-11-3.5 player, an all star, and a 4 time all NBA defensive team participant...and in the 2nd 3 peat they had Rodman, one of the best defenders and rebounders of all time. It's a casual fan myth that the Bulls had no rim protection.

The Spurs always had a rim protector with Duncan so idk what the heck Lebron is bringing up the Spurs for.

A rim protector is the most important part of the game. We need to get one.

In 2012, Serge Ibaka finished second in voting for DPOY. Is he not a rim protector?

Here's one of the interviews where Lebron talks about a rim protector. He specifically talks about Tim Duncan.

What ended up hurting the Heat were D Wade's injuries, overreliance on Lebron/iso basketball, and no young talent to replace the aging vets.

Ibaka has no post game and is a mediocre rebounder, so he couldn't hurt Miami's big weakness of no center.

Wade's injuries did hurt Miami a lot, but Miami was one of the worst rebounding teams in NBA history and they made any center with size look like prime Shaq...which is why Hibbert always dominated them. Center was by far their biggest weakness...but anyways they did enough to win 2 titles....and are the only team in modern NBA to win without a legit center. If they even had a Dalembert quality center they would have been a far superior team.

Knicks actively shopping Dalembert before Wednesday or they will waive him - per Stein.

What is the procedure with players on waivers?

He will have to go through the claiming process for 48 hours. If a team claims him, they pay the rest of his current salary. The order of claims goes from worst record to best record. If he goes through the 48 hours unclaimed, he becomes a free agent.

Thank you. So, I imagine Griffin is gambling he'll clear rather than use an asset on him.
