Cavs Interested in Kosta Koufos

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Not going to derail this thread and add anything else after this post...but i disagree with that 100%. The owners panicked. Worst part is we were undoing a mistake they forced us into in the first place.

Logically this makes sense: Lebron knew how many assets we had accumulated. Basically any team that was going to get Lebron would do everything in their power to get under the cap.

Not having an extra first rounder this year really hurts IMO. We want to save the Memphis 1st to tag onto Haywood's contract but really no way you want to pull that off till next year when we can take in 10 million of salary in exchange for that 1st. Having another first rounder would allow us a lot more flexibility this year while we wait for the off-season when Haywood's cap number changes.

NO!!! T.T is not leaving LeBron loves the guy and he is very important to our team as we are trying to ADD a big. The guy mentioned Is Waiters outside of this forum he is really really liked by a lot of fans most casual. If this gets done it will be a three team trade. No way MEM takes on Waiters with out getting another big back.

Good points. TT is also very close to Kyrie.

Earlier in the season a member of the media asked Lebron if the Cavs needed a rim protector. Lebron said no and then rattled off a bunch of teams that didn't have a rim protector and won the finals. I think he included the Bulls in the 90's, some of the Spurs teams, then the Heat the last few seasons. There were a couple of others. He was correct then. This Cavs team still needs more time to gel.

Officially off of the ledge.

Good and I agree I mean they help and add a dimension but it can be done without. However for this team this year it would help to have one until they can learn to gel. We would be better off picking one up as we need center depth with AV being injury prone. Kofus would be a nice piece but a team that is two games away from the best record in the NBA is not going to sell cheap. Grab Okafor or O'neal and call it day. We do need to trade for a wing though.

I have the feeling we could've already had Koufos if we were willing to give Memphis their pick back. I'm probably wrong.

I would guess that this is all being pushed out there by his agent.

None of these teams have Kevin Love constantly playing deep in the paint though.

We either need a rim protector, or we need to figure out how to prevent the opposing team from getting close to the rim a lot more. Which is basically just about being tough and physical. Might need to pick someone else up who does that sort of thing all the time.

Or maybe LeBron can just go superman in the playoffs and just focus on assists, rebounds and defense for the most part as long as people are scoring... idk heh.

We need perimeter defense

Our bugs would look better if there wasn't penetration damn near every play

Koufos is playing fantastic defense in his limited playing time this season (13.8 mpg).

He has been the tenth best defensive center in the NBA according to Defensive RPM.
It's even higher (2.44) than Marc Gasol's (2.37).
He's also second on his team in defensive rebounding percentage (only behind Randolph) at 24.1 percent. Plus, his 0.6 defenisve win shares are the highest on this team by a reserve player.
And averaging exactly one block in his limited minutes isn't too shabby either.

He would really help our team, imo. I want Andy to come off the bench. I love him, but I think it's just the best for him and for our team to be our reserve energy big next to Thompson. Andy and Kosta can still split the 48 minutes at center.
Also, we would have great front court depth which will only help us come playoff time.

I would not give Memphis their pick for him, we need to think about the future aswell.

Are you using The Bullshit Whisperer's western conference GM? :chuckle:

I had no interest in trading Dion until Matthews was mentioned. He's the perfect fit at the 2 guard with our starting line-up.

I haven't watched Matthews play in like 2 years. He is still good? I saw his PER was decent. But if he can shoot and still play solid defense, he would be a good fit.
