Love/Wiggins Trade Revisited

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The main reason Wiggins wouldnt have been the best fit here?

Dont take this as slight, but its Kyrie.

If Kyrie were a pure point pg. A guy that racked up 9 to 10 assists a game then I think Wiggins would have flourished early here.

However, Kyrie is an elite scorer. LeBron already handles the ball a lot as it is. Wiggins would have been stuck as a 3 and D guy. He would have flourished in that role. But I'm not sure he reaches his full potential.

Think of Paul George before Danny Granger got hurt. He was a different guy. He had a different role.

This is the most wide open year in years. So you cant blame the Cavs organization for wanting to win now.

Its just too bad the TWolves didnt fall for Waiters/Bennett/2 firsts for Love.

No Love, No Return.

Before you draw out your reasons for keeping him to pair up with LeBron, stop. Kid didn't even get mentioned in the letter. Cavs brass knew what needed to be done to get LeBron on board.

Not just here, but Cavs fans all over rethink that trade, and forget that was the main piece being talked about behind close doors in that meeting where we tracked Dan Gilbert's plane to Miami.

Still can't really dribble. Once we buckled down, he was fairly easy to shut down because his jumper is not lethal.

Will always be a polarizing trade, but the verdict won't be clear for a few years

They would have eventually. Waiters/Bennett/3 firsts could have happened at the deadline.
Whatever happened to Dion>>>Kyrie under your name? I hope a 55 point performance didn't change that opinion.

Ok I cant argue that...

I guess the main issue is. Would trading for Love at midseason made it difficult for us to get out of the East/Win a championship this year?

You saw how we struggled out of the gate. Also look at the Mavs after acquiring Rondo. Its thrown them off a bit.

Its easier to fit in role players like JR, Mozgov, etc than a guy like Love.

I imagine this might have had something to do with it:

Love will make 3X the money next year Wiggins will. Really an incredible value for a 3rd option decoy if you ask me.

How could anyone even posit Dion/Bennett and picks being enough for Kevin Love at the deadline?

For what Griffin got out of Dion, he should get Exec of the Year

maybe because this is the fucking 2015 NBA and sophomore players can't fucking make as much as 8 year players no matter what.......

People act like Wiggins is some established 20 PPG scorer all NBA defender or something. He hasn't done shit but have a couple great games

Congratulations he's now don't as much in the NBA as Manny Harris

Living in the past won't change the past. Wiggins looked great but the trade is done. If the Cavs don't win a title in the next three years and the window shuts, then it will haunt the franchise. If the Cavs win a title in the next three years it will be 100% worth it.
