Game 71: Pacers @ Cavs, Friday, March 20, 2015, 7:30 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Playoffs will be a first time adjustment for Irving, Love, Thompson, Delly. Mozgov has been there once. One series, 99 minutes played.

If it takes 6 games to beat some of the teams in the East as we acclimate to how we're going to play in series vs. single games, than so be it.

I get the feeling though that if we dare to lose more than one game against any other Eastern teams in the playoffs. there will be much vitriol thrown at Blatt, thrown at Love, thrown at LeBron, and so on down the line.

We'll see. It would also be interesting to see how many people on the board predicted we'd actually make it to or even win the finals this year at the beginning of the year and then after the trades. Will those people who already stated they do not expect a championship win in year one be level headed or will the call down a cataclysm of anger on various members of the team and staff?

What we truly have zero reference for right now is how this team will react in a playoff series. None of the games this year, good or bad, are the same as being in a seven game series. To me, that is not fear inducing, it's exciting. That's why I watch. To see how it all goes down. Not to have some guarantee that we'll win or it won't be a tough road with some hard losses or even poor performances.
We cannot afford to go more than 5 games in the first round with championship hopes. A week of rest between rounds is important. I can't remember the last time a LeBron led team went 6 games in order to advance to the second round. If it takes 6 or more games vs any team in round 1 I'd worry. They'll need rest for later rounds

Kevin's not a guard and doesn't handle the ball. He can only get what Kyrie and LeBron give him. He raised his arms in disgust numerous times tonight when he was open. He wasn't being passive.

Standing and waiving will not suffice. Move without the ball and make himself available.

If it were Dion Waiters standing open and waiving, would you feel the same? We've all seen the video and many have made fun of his actions therein.

Kyrie just got abused by George Hill. Completely could not guard him at all, and his length clearly bothered Ky.

No reason for Moz to ever not be guarding Hibbert and we really, really need to get KLove more looks, especially when fucking Scola is guarding him.

Whatever Shumpert is offered in the off season, we have to match. He is a terrific defender.

If you're already open, there's no need to move.

Awesome game and win tonight. Fun game to be at.

Felt like the playoffs that entire game!

You were there too ? Awesome - I got to say Wasn't the atmosphere friggin amazing - And that too for a regular season game? I lost my voice screaming out aloud!!! And a close close game too - I was expecting a big game from our Big three and it was Delly that shown.

1 things that concerned me a lot - During the second half we hardly were in the foul line despite clearly being fouled. I dont want to think there is a conspiracy but I was disappointed with the refereeing. Another concern was apart from Mozgov and LeBron we don't seem to be comfortable dunking. We are constructed to be more jump-shot team it seems, so when things dont fall in - our lead seems to erode away silently but steadily.

What section were you in?

Something about those Indiana Pacers, even without George and West (for a half), have given Cleveland fits this season. I get it, they are playing for the playoffs, Cleveland is promised a spot. That’s the story of every game against these two squads this season but at the same time, I just want to squash them. I want to not only beat them, I want to embarrass them and Cleveland really hasn’t been up to that challenge. Tonight, I thought maybe this was it when they went up by 11 but as soon as I thought that, Indiana is right back in it.

Not much to break done from the stat line for both teams, it was oddly similar. It just so happened Cleveland has LeBron James and Indiana doesn’t. Obviously, James was stellar in the 4th on the offensive end, but it took defense to win. I loved seeing James tell the coaches that Timo needs to be in to defend that last inbounds pass and low and behold he made that Pacer throw it high and that helped out with the off-balance 3 they took.

Kyrie had an off game, but Delly contributed 11 and 5 to kind of not have it affect the team too much. Love looked solid again for 2 straight games with a double-double and I loved the fight Mosgov put forth against Indiana’s bigs.

I have a slight undiagnosed case of OCD and the below picture will showcase that. A little backstory: NBA League Pass for Directv sets blocks of 3 hours for games on their guide in case a came runs late or goes into OT. Also you can manually make it record even longer than the guide states but on occasion, whether it’s an error on the LP package or Directv, a recording will stop even before the allotted 3 hour block on the guide shows. As with my OCD, I record the game in HD and SD because if there is a glitch with HD, more than likely that play is glitch free with SD. As the below note states, both HD telecasts stopped recording before even 2 hours and 30 minutes, but the SD kept going. Turns out, the guide updated to the next game but only on the HD versions and the SD kept recording. I have had it where the game isn’t over and it’s done that, but not in months.

I wrote this note even before I watched the game bc I was busy and didn’t get to it until after 9 pm my time. *Like my OCD needs any more validation, with LP the channel will go offline when the game is over. That is further evidence the recording stopping too soon wasn’t a spoiler because it didn’t just stop and say delete or keep but it said channel is offline which it always does. I bet the LP guys were on it tonight and stopped the HD telecast and updated the guide right after, and didn’t do it to SD because no one watches that anymore. Luckily, no spoilage…recording went offline at 2.23 and it stopped recording at 2.25.

One of two things was going to happen: 1)game over by that time or 2)it stopped with game time left. Like I said, its an error because last time it happened, it happened with a game still on so for all extensive purposes and with my horrible luck, there was the chance Pacers score and tie and the recording stopped in OT.

By the way, before people blame LeBron James. I get it, he doesn't really love playing with at true post player. But Kevin isn't a traditional back to the basket, player. He can play on the block, but he loves to play on the elbow. Guess what? That's where Chris Bosh played a lot of in Miami.

Mind boggling how few of touches, and plays get gets called out on the elbow.

It has nothing to do with fit, it has to do with our head coach, that doesn't know what Kevin Love likes to do at all.

That's just unacceptable. Whether you like, or dislike Blatt as a coach, that is completely baffling.

I think I only counted one touch the entire game on the elbow, and he banked the shot off the glass.

I'm sure you know better than Blatt, his assistants and Love himself that can go and tell him :het is good at that" or "hey I like to play there" what Kevin likes.

Besides a basketball team is not a "do what you like" game. Theres a system, and not everything fits it. So if you need to sacrifice Lebron or Kyrie's type of play or sacrifice Love's type of play, you sacrifice Love because with all of his talent he is still inferior to them.

You people have only complaints. "Lebron bailed him out". How about say something good about the defense and attributr it to Blatt instead of crying "ohh what a terrible coaching he doesnt understand the game". It's beyong me why good stuff are attributed to the players and bad stuff are attributed to the coach.

Should have put Shumpert on Hill during the third when he was going off. Bring in Marion to put on Stuckey if you need to. Didn't really like how we handled that

He's damn sure not Dion
