@Chris Parker , do you anticipate Blatt shortening the rotation come playoff time? It seemed like no accident to me that only 8 guys were used against Chicago. Do you see those as the 8 guys moving forward? Shawn Marion has hardly played in months, James Jones was getting fairly consistent minutes but hasn't seen the floor much at all the last 2 weeks (save the Miami game). Part of it is match-ups I'd assume.

I think the Chicago game was a sort of test for his now standard rotation. Dave at FTS pointed out the two best 3-man squads were Iman, LeBron, TT and Love, Ky Tmo. No coincidences those correspond to the first two rotations.

I honestly would like to see him play Marion and get him ready for playoffs because I think he will be really useful. But Blatt doesn't seem to agree. If you check my column a couple days ago, I note that Blatt put the ixnay on Marion saying "we've been successful with this squad and there's not reason to change that."

I'm sure he will spot Perkins, Jones and Marion, but it certainly looks like he's ready to play potentially entire series' w/o them seeing more than garbage time minutes.

I wish I understood that, esp. w/r/t Marion who he had so much faith in heretofore.

You want some speculation? I wonder if Marion said something to Blatt, pissed him off. This is a guy who started all last season. Not only has he not come off the bench in years, but now he's not even playing --- in his swan song season?? That's pure speculation, but it's very very weird to me that Blatt had such confidence in him, and then suddenly he's getting DNPs like he's Dead-wood.

Good show.

The Blatt/Parker relationship reminds me of observing a budding student/teacher kinship in university and while every single exchange isn't going to be incredibly insightful (due to Blatt almost telling you to meet him after class for time purposes), I feel like Parker's the only member that Blatt is interested in answering, well besides his planned jabs at some of the other reporters.

Now if he could just bust his chops a little more like his Maccabi press conferences (Blatt fondly said "You see what I've had to deal with" when he took some crap from his old media members after the Maccabi exhibition in the preseason), you might get a little more out of Blatt.

Blatt seems like that guy looking around for anyone to break the mold, and while Parker provides some levity, I feel like he's just oh so close to getting Blatt to really open up to the media on things besides the basketball strategy that he rightfully keeps to himself.

Chris:....you don't seem to take yourself overly seriously.

I wrote about music for many many years and my favorite bands were those that were serious about their craft - heart and soul -- but not too impressed with themselves

It's a fine line because you need some chutzpah, but you can't forget you're just another dope. Hence the twitter background pic...

I mean, I guess you can ponder that but ever since we've had able bodied and offensively capable wing players who don't give up too much defensively...it's not like we're missing him.

And I'm sure Marion and Miller deny coming in for a minute or two for garbage time more often than some would like to see.

Marion has also been utterly worthless on offense all season long.

I do agree that I'd like to see him get some burn for his defensive versatility

I don't know but it certainly helps to have you read and share my columns. I am open to asking yr questions as well. Lord knows I don't hold a franchise on good queries

You could change your twitter picture. I mean, that could help at job interviews. :chuckle:

One last Q and I'll shut-up, and it's a music question to boot: Greatest band to ever come out of Cleveland? I say Rocket From The Tombs/Pere Ubu, and not only because Peter Laughner is a hero of mine. What say you?

Somewhere between his 500th and 10,000th missed lay-up is where the decision was made I think.
And yet somehow Delly got a pass.... but Just Checkin is right, Shumpert's ability to cover even 4s in a pinch on a switch has made Marion superfluous, but I'm starting to wonder if Marion's really a bigger brickmason than Shump...

I guess I'd kind of feel like a sell-out if I did, trying to be something to please someone for a rather superficial reason. Is that wrong?

Not like we didn't try to find a replacement for Delly :chuckle:

Almost brought over Steve Nash and his wheelchair.
