Johnny Manziel: Swan Won't Return His Calls

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Glad to know it's all bullshit like we all know.

Oh I have no idea if Manziel is working out three hours a day in Barea for his workout program or not. That part is probably accurate. I hope it's true, I'm just wary of spin doctoring regarding those two players.

Further... and this is the part I've been avoiding mentioning for a month... I heard on good authority that "The Browns are on the hook for Manziel." If the New Orleans deal goes through, that would be great... but I heard otherwise around the same time seiklis dropped the trade rumors.

Gross.

Oh, I have no doubt that we're stuck with JFF. Don't think there's an NFL team dumb enough to trade for him.

I don't have any juicy tidbits like you that I can verify. Although, a little birdie told me that Gordon certainly hasn't changed his ways.

But he did post a ridiculous and really geeky childhood photo of himself wearing a Boston jersey, wishing them good luck before the game. That in itself got a good deal of flack, and deservingly so.
Yes but did Tom actually make it? I doubt it, because he it's probably either studying game film or working out. I wouldn't be surprised if he watches the game while using battle ropes.

That's great that Manziel is putting in extra time. He has a lot of lost time from fucking off last year to make up for. Hopefully he sticks with it and becomes a serviceable backup some day.

Until he is off this roster/we get someone better, I hope he sticks with it and becomes fucking Drew Brees.

Johnny Manziel is a 21 year-old kid with maturity issues. He loves the spotlight, and revels in your attention. He is not ready to be an NFL quarterback, but that has nothing to do with his Joe Namath-meets-Jim McMahon personality.

Watching Manziel struggle in the NFL, it’s clear to see what I said about Manziel all along looks correct. He’s a one-read quarterback, who then seeks to create with his feet AND arm if the first read isn’t there. He is not a read-option quarterback, and aside from this preseason I don’t think I can remember seeing him lined up in the “Pistol formation.”

That isn’t to say Manziel cannot or will not get it, simply that he hasn’t yet and he isn’t close.

So why are the Cleveland Browns pigeon-holing him? I’ll give partial credit to Kyle Shanahan for trying, but Manziel isn’t a Pistol read-option guy either. His success came from his ability to create after read one isn’t there. He’s a kid who needs the field spread horizontally, so receivers can take advantage of coverage. He needs a shotgun look, so he can survey the field from a vantage point he’s comfortable with.

He needs an offensive coordinator that understands that.

The Browns plan seems to be “try something sort of college-y” with the Pistol looks and read-option calls, but those aren’t things Manziel has ever done, and they aren’t things offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan has done with any sustained success.

Farmer has acknowledged that the Browns Offense wasnt the best to initiate Manziel into the NFL with. The problem with sitting him and not using him at all it allowed Manziel to be disengaged and when he did practice it was in the pistol package which did nothing towards his development. Johnny also should of been getting reps with the first team to some extent.

Albrights tweet was about last season and is a safe statement to make . If any of the coaches were to say he was ready to start. then the follow up question qould be why didnt until the end of the season so its not like coaches that arent even with the browns any more such as shanahan and duggans or whatever his name was would even bother to refute it.

He also had Manziel as a 3rd round developmental pick.

The tweet isnt really relavent to this season the guy is just tooting his own horn

You're bogus.

Guy is 100 percent dead on. There was no reason to believe Manziel would ever be ready for NFL action, literally everything positive about him was "intangible."

Horrendous.

That article left me rubbing my eyes with kosher salt. Just the worst. He is proud to be bringing his talents to bleacher report the same way homeless people are proud to be bringing their talent to sleeping on park benches.

Can I send you the book he wrote?

Allbright has the humility of b00bie and the writing skills of Torn; fits right in at Bleacher Report.

On a side note, did an extra line for Johnny last night. Even ducked into the bathroom for old time sake. He might have sucked at football, but he knows how to party!

Torn, the idea that Manziel disengaged last season because the Browns mismanaged him in a ridiculous statement to make. Just take a step back and think about that statement if it were actually true.

A rookie QB with the personality the size of Andre the Giant and the stature of a Keebler elf, decided he did not want to participate because he wasn't the starter? He blew off the entire year because he wasn't the starter and then when he was they were running an offense he didn't like. I keep asking myself, if that's the case why does anyone defend him? If his name was John Smith instead of Johnny Football Browns fans wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole.
