LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I disagree. It's a body language thing. In that Celtics game, LeBron looked like he was just going through the motions. He was putting up pretty stats, but he looked checked out and disinterested. Two nights ago, that wasn't the case at all. He was tired, but he looked like he was giving it everything he had. If we had lost two nights ago, I doubt anyone would have blamed LeBron, because his effort was there.

Yeah pretty much this. In the 2010 Celtics series something just looked "off". Watching him play hundreds of games, it was just easy to spot something wasn't 100% right. It seemed like the first time in his career where, mentally, a team broke him...and then the residual effect of that was him shutting down a bit and giving up (in a sense).

This post-season, he's been SO tough and that has trickled down to the team. He's attacking inside the post more than he ever has in a Cavs uniform. He's welcoming contact both on offense (attacking the basket) and on defense (willingly playing the 4 and battling PF's on defense). He's taking responsibility for things that don't go well and is just willing us to these wins down the stretch (wether that is scoring himself or getting guys wide open looks). I watch him play, especially in the ECF and I just believe we are going to win solely based on his body language. The fans feel it, the team feels it and it seems to be buoying everyone. Win or lose in the finals, I feel like LeBron is emptying the clip. That's all you can ask for.

Leadership involves putting the group above yourself. Posters are asking how we could question LeBron's leadership. He played at least half the season giving minimal effort including a two week vacation when the chips were down.

Look at his stats. He's a better player now than he was before he went to Miami. How are his stats this year significantly worse (even after the break) than the last time he was with the Cavs? Please explain that.

He's still out here still giving possessions away, still air balling layups while some of his teammates are playing through actual injuries trying to blow the opponent out. It's crazy.

The "chips" are not "down" in early January regular season games, they're down right now.

You know, when he's averaging a triple double and absolutely obliterating people.

Just stahp.

Without getting into the specifics, your basic point is that Lebron James is detrimental to the team and therefore cannot be called a leader? Am i reading this right or did i take too much of a leap of logic here?

Are you trying to argue that it doesn't matter where we are TODAY, 1 game from the NBA finals WITHOUT Love or Irving, it matters where we were in December of this year? When we were trying to turn an entire roster of players (who have lost their whole career) in to a championship team?

Does that only sound stupid to me?

Typically you judge the process by the end result, not by the speed bumps that slow you down...

Nobody gives a **** about regular season games before the vAll Star break

They should be "absolutely obliterating people." Why haven't they been?

Isn't the goal to win a championship. If LeBron didn't take time off to heal his body back then, he probably doesn't have enough left to overcome the loss of Love and the issues with Kyrie.

He just left everything he had on the court last game and you're going to complain about his leadership?
