I'm sure everyone has seen this article about Wade being between Lakers & Cavs. How on earth could we possibly sign him and not dismantle our whole team? Is the only feasible option a S&T? Can't see that happening. I'm all for Wade coming to CLE, but if it costs us TT & Shump, I'm not that thrilled.

check the DWade safari thread in Around the NBA. basically we trade Haywood + miller + 24th pick for him

Small moves, but I really like what the Hornets have done so far this offseason. Without any more drastic moves they'll have a rotation of:

Walker/Ridnour
MKG/Booker?
Batum/Williams
Jefferson/Zeller
Hawes/Zeller

Not a contender in any sense, but they are making some decent adjustments. Maybe they move their pick for a better fit at SG.
I mean I guess if you are looking to lock up the 6-7th seed in the East for the next three years yeah. Batum has stated he prefers the west coast and may leave in 10 months, Jefferson has one year left and has started his decline and MKG is one of the worst shooters in NBA history. They are trying to unload Zeller and Hawes is an average nba player. You just gave away a 19 year old kid who could be very good in 2-3 years, and your draft picks have sucked besides Walker. You dont have any where near the upside of young teams like the Bucks. So on second thought, na I am not excited at all if I am in Charlotte. Probably make a playoff round and get destroyed in the first round, and that is if everyone stays healthy.
At least you went from the Bobcats to the Hornets. But Jordan just stinks as a talent evaluater and Gm. The more thoguht I put into it the more I get depressed as a Charlotte fan.

I agree with you, but in the past Charlotte didn't really seem to have a plan together. At least now they are trying to put together a better core together for maybe a season or two.

I don't think that's enough. My guess is you might have to add Shump (or replace Miller with him) or add in another 1st. If I'm Miami, Haywood's contract + filler and the idea of sending Wade to LeBron is not appealing.

Shump is no Wade but at least he's a servicable player and he's young.

I still believe he's staying in Miami.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Ridnour get waived or traded again during the draft tonight. He has a 2.8 million fully non-guaranteed contract.

I'm subscribed to @gourimoko 's line of thinking that if DWade demands a trade to cleveland, Riley will take what he can get. Maybe we add another pick and/or include Harris, but super stars have a ton of leverage IMO

I can't see a scenario where Riley trades the franchise for a contract and Joe Harris.

Plus, am I crazy in that I'd rather have Shumpert than Wade?

I realize Iman can't create his own shot, but he is 24, a versatile defender and on the Cavs when healthy he fills a role that is valuable for this team. When we were healthy, finding open shots wasn't our problem. I feel like we have enough offense but could always use defenders. Guys like Shumpert are sought after come playoff time.

Wade is a hall of famer, I get it, but he is going to be overpaid no matter what he gets and it could limit our ability to spend down the road. He probably has a year and a half left in the tank

Cavs will have too many players,
if I were the GM I wouldn't match TT offer if it is more than 11m a year.
I'd try to go for Splitter, Green/Mills , draft Delon Wright if available and Richaun Holmes, gg.

No way Cavs trade Shumpert in package for Wade. Not going to happen.

Wade was 24th in the league in PER. He is still very good. Not sure about his defense though.

You know....what if Portland lets Matthews walk and convinces Aldridge to stay. They are way, way under the cap. They could make a legit run at, say, Marc Gasol. Put him next to Aldridge....that's a scary, scary front court.

I can't see Marc Gasol leaving Memphis to join Portland. Also, Wes Matthews is the heart and soul of that team. Not to mention, their best perimeter defender. Without him, Lillard's defensive ability get exposed big time.
