2016 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It could lead to a major shake up but it could just lead to someone like Chernoff, whose pretty highly regarded around the league, being bumped up to GM and someone like Dan O'Dowd being brought back as President. I don't think they'll stray too far from the tree....
Huh didn't think about that. I don't think ODowd was still here though when Dolan took over. I think Paul Dolan will want to make his own move; he has not always been in the same camp as Shapiro. They might just bump everyone up but I'm not sure Antonetti wants a non-baseball job like that.

Still want to see Shapiro as commissioner one day. Oh well. Now we know why they almost dealt Carrasco to the Jays (false flag!!! Or maybe that is why Shapiro nixed it, hmmmmmm)...

Maybe they can get some type of player compensation from this. Similar to the Red Sox receiving compensation when Theo Epstein left for the Cubs.

Hope you're right, if Shapiro and CA leave, cause I'm liking the habits they are getting into with their drafting...not straying far away would be nice for me, but I really hope they revamp the pro scouting.

Biggest concern would be with the status of Tito if this happens, and more so for me, the status of Mickey Callaway...I don't want to lose Callaway, and if Tito leaves I could see him trying to take him with.

Are people really worried about this franchise getting a major shake up?

Shapiro and Antonetti leave, Tito is almost certainly gone.

Very good point here regarding Antonetti leaving too:

When two of the most respected people in baseball are potentially leaving your small market purgatory, yes...it's pretty worrysome.

Let me save him, or Mar, some time and give you what I expect he will answer with..."Yeah, so respected that they signed Bourn, Swisher, Myers, and Floyd and couldn't lure big names"

But they traded away two Cy Young winners!

Just thinking out loud... Maybe the Tribe could so some serious poaching of the Red Sox org since they are about to turn over? One thing they know how to do is draft: 7 of their top 12 picks from 2011 are on their roster. The Sox, to me, are one of the best drafting teams in the game. Might behoove them to steal from there if change is a'comin...

What a bummer. I was just thinking about Tito being one of the greatest managers in team history and now he could be gone. Sucks.

Based on what? His past with the Red Sox? The team has under-performed for the second straight season under his watch. Not saying that is all his fault or that he's a bad manager, but he hasn't done much to command that type of praise you just gave him.

Oh god what if they bring back Paul DePodesta? I will say this, its wild to see how many former members of such a supposedly bad FO there are sprinkled around baseball... Other teams didn't get the memo...

I just don't buy Antonetti automatically leaving if Shap does..

Issue here is, Toronto's GM is already on the outs (contract up in October), and a new President of Ops would be the nail in the coffin. Shapiro is either going to poach Antonetti or Chernoff...it just makes too much sense.
