Kyrie Irving

Glad they got Mo and re-signed Delly.

They've got three guys on the floor with LeBron that can hit threes at above average levels even with Kyrie out and Tristan and Moz manning the paint. This is a 60 win team even without Kyrie on the floor.

Above all, this will give Love a ton of opportunities to be the second banana before Kyrie comes back. I'm hoping Kyrie misses a month and then comes back healthy for that reason.

Funny how we both basically agree about the entire situation, but both have different predictions.

I'm calling it now that Kyrie doesn't play a minute this season.
I think it's interesting there really wasn't any news regarding Irving after the injury..nothing ,up till now.

I missed the quote he had about Kyrie, given it was in July: Irving said, "I'm honestly not putting a date on anything. People are going to put a date regardless. I'm just continuing to be on the journey I've been on, and that's continuing to get better every single day and rehabbing my leg."

Doesn't sound like a guy with a set back. I never thought there was, or should be an exact time table on his return either. But obviously 3-4 months, to 7 is absurd.

Sounds like bullshit reporting by Haynes.

Lol, that's crazy, basically you want us to take off the entire regular season?

Even the Spurs wouldn't treat the regular season that careless.

It's crazy?!? The guy broke his kneecap. Lol. You think that's a three month injury?
You don't put him near a court until he's 100%. The cavs are in the east: all they have to do is get in the goddam playoffs. This isn't the west where regular season seeding actually means something. There's not a team in the east that's remotely challenging in a seven game series to the Cavs.

You proposed sitting Kyrie and Love out till Jan, then resting 'Bron in Feb.

Basically, you want to rest the big three, for over 2/3 of the season. And develop basically no cohesiveness at all.

I am pretty sure Gilbert didn't decide to pay an all-time high pay roll for that.

Your idea makes no sense at all.

Here's the thing that's strange to me about the Kyrie situation.

Usually, any news that is broken is typically piled on in the following minutes/hours by other journalists on the same beat. If, for example, one reporter tweets that the Cavs made a trade, all of the others follow that reporter within minutes (or at most hours).

Here ... nothing. We haven't seen any follow-up or confirmatory tweets/stories from Lloyd, or the other guys at the NEOMG, or Withers, or Woj, or Windy, or Sauces Broussard, or whoever. We have Chris Haynes on an island, and nothing more.

I don't know if there's any significance to it -- if Haynes is running with a story that he didn't confirm properly, or if he really does have some inside info. And I don't want to bash Haynes for reporting news that, if true, sets the Cavs back a bit. I just find it curious that the rest of the media herd hasn't joined in on this story. And I don't think it's by accident.

Haynes simply heard that we won't rush Kyrie back, then he decided to run with it.

Who knows, maybe someone gave him a very conservative estimate; not because that's our exact timeline but it's indicative of the approach we're going to use handling Kyrie's injury, ie don't rush him back just to play in the opener.

Sorry about my incoherent post from last night, drank a little too much.

Honestly Kevin and Bron need to develop a killer chemistry.

I believe that Kevin's commitment to Cleveland will cement his relationship with LeBron, and we'll see plenty of improvement in all areas there.

It should have been expected that our two most ball-dominant players on the team (LBJ and IRV) needed to figure their dynamic out at first. Consequently, Kevin was 'underutilized' and improperly fed.

Agree, he probably did hear that. And that's not exactly breaking news. But the fabrication was the extra "two months" bit.

If he posted Kyrie Irving won't be rushed back, and 'could' possibly miss the opener. Which I don't think is something they've even established yet, but is possible, no one would care.

But then he throws in the flimsy quote, from another source, saying it could be January.

I wouldn't be surprised if he completely lied about that. Now, that get's people talking, and clicking to his article.

Windy has already shot that down I believe. Haynes is just terrible.

Haynes is a fabricating, click-bait hater. There is a reason he quickly became Blatt's least favorite local reporter.

Take two weeks off...Hell take two months off if the medical staff believes it will make for a more durable Irving. Hopefully he takes a trip down to Miami during his time off too.

That's like going way over price on The Price is Right, bidding the dyson vaccuum at $5999. Daring everyone to come up too far under.

Fine, KI out until the playoffs.

He'll never play again.

He'll have kids and they'll never play either.

Of course I expect to see him this season, but going with an extreme on the off chance it happens.

Damage control that comes out 2 months before the season begins is worrisome. I obviously don't trust the Cavs to give us the real story, so I'm willing to go out on a limb and call total bullshit on everything we're hearing.
