Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Pumping up? have you been following the thread . multiple posters are saying rich paul is a abd agent because he didnt get Bledsoe a max contract or convince him to take a qualifying offer.

Paul went to bat for Bledsoe and got him a much superior deal than what phoenix was trying to pay.
I think it went more like..
Paul " you can take the 70 or take the qo and we see what we can get ya on the FA market.

Bledsoe " ill take the 70"

A bad agent would of persuaded bledsoe to sign at the first offer.

Paul isnt doing anything different than fegan had been doing for years. Once Paul is established and shown his commitment. teams will be less likely to lowball his clients.

stinging along talks is the best play right now. demanding meax is the best play right now.

hopefully it nets in a compromise. but ultimately the sign or take qo decision will come to Thompson

Much superior deal? Oh my, that's really funny. They were trying to get him the max.

You really are believing delusion at this point, aren't you Torn.

By the way, the Timberwolves were willing to pay him the max.

The 4 year, 63 million dollar amount would have guaranteed him more money per year.

Not more than the Suns deal and Bledsoe would have been stupid to accept that, given the Suns did offer more.

And we will never know what the Suns REAL number was. It was reported 48, which is Sarver being a penny pincher. He's cheap as it comes. It doesn't mean that he wasn't all along willing to pay 70 million.

Another article.

"Bledsoe had planned to sign a one-year qualifying offer worth $3.7 million with the Suns at the end of this week had a deal not been reached so he could be an unrestricted free agent next year."

Doesn't sound like it was security they wanted. So again, Paul by all accounts failed his client. Could have gotten a much bigger deal.

Didn't really have anything to risk, given he had already gotten hurt, and there was still a good enough market for him.

That's an agent making an mistake.

I am pretty sure Bledsoe isn't that happy looking back on all this, knowing he could have gotten paid another 24 million.

So in sense, he didn't get a way superior deal. Not even close. They got worked.

Rich Paul is fine. He has a job and he's doing it. All of my frustration is aimed squarely at Tristan who, if he so wanted, could end this at any moment. It isn't Rich Paul's job to care about the Cavaliers salary cap issues and how it impacts the teams ability to improve. Tristan though, you'd hope, would care about winning titles a little more than making every single dollar he possibly can.

Will LeBron leave Cleveland if Thompson isn't re-signed?

so its pauls fault. that phoenix would not do a sign and trade with Minnesota?
or is it Pauls fault that Bledsoe took the 70 million deal over 3.7 QO.

Once again even the article you linked mentions several time in July that Bledsoe was offered 48 million.

so not only did Paul get Bledsoe an extra 2 million a year.
Twolves offered Bledsoe 15 a year for which they didnt have the money available to put out an offer sheet.

Bledsoe could of chose to signthe QO he chose not to. HIs agent got him that deal on the table and gave him an option to explore free agency.

Bledsoe gets injured for the 3rd time in his five years and misss another half season. he wishes he had signed the 70 million.

The only Person Bledsoe has to be mad at is himself. I dont think he should be . He took thew safe route

What is delusion is that you believe you know whats best for Eric Bledsoe.

did Paul hide the Minnesota deal from him? did Paul hide the QO to free agency route from him?

no these things were public knoe so you can bet Bledsoe knew what his options were when he went to door 1. take the lower money.with max raises and try for a max contract when he is a proven commodity.

Phoenix has a proven track record of bullshit.

They excel at it.
Sarver had this to say about the exit:

"To be honest with you, we didn't really even have a chance. He had mentioned he was interested in coming back, and then when he was talking to Orlando, he just called and said, 'Hey, you've got three minutes to match this offer.'"

To which Frye responded:

"I think we have to take what that front office says with a grain of salt. I think right now they need to focus on their own team. I think we had many negotiations between [us and] the Suns."

and what about Goran Dragic. Although Dragic apologized he did say he didnt trust the front office and Sarver replied to that apology with this

The Author took the apology as meaning Goran was maing things up but I think it shows a pattern here of what happens when Sarver comes to odds with a player

He blames the agent.

The Suns Lowballed Frye, they lowballed Bledsoe and when asked about it on the radio sarver said this

Sarver said something very applicable himself, but with respect to Eric Bledsoe...

It's not necessarily us to determine what he thinks is fair; it's him to determine that.

If Delusional is being aware of both sides of the story. then so be it

You don't think LeBron is in his ear too?
TT is definitely going to listen to LeBron, who is probably telling him to be strong. Get every dollar you can.
Hmm lemme see. LeBron is getting his money. What's the next important thing to him? Bettering title chances or making sure his buddies make their money? I don't think LeBron is stupid.

Let's put the whole " coming to the home - need to win cavs a title aside ". He masterfully forms big threes. One guard and one big to go with him. A perfect combo. Heat was in a rut where wade is looking done and bosh was doing bad in play-offs. The bigger problem is all three were getting near max. No way to get out of the set up. There is no way to improve the roster by giving less money to wade and bosh. And then cavs presented a nice opportunity. Lot of assets + Kyrie. So he is able to form a younger big three.
My point is LeBron wants his buddies like wade to make the most money. But not on his team. He doesn't want a bad contract on his team. He has huge bb iq not just ON the court, OFF court as well.

And go where? Which team is prepared to hand out max to 5 players to please LeBron?

LA is a good choice.

Team him up with Kobe for one last hurrah.. LBJ takes less money because he can make it up in sales revenue.

sorry guys, doesnt look like we wanna pay TT and being cheap is gonna bring us right back to 2009.

Of your not upset by the fact that we won't pay our hustle guy, who demoralizes the opponent with o boards, an extra 3 million a year, while disrespecting lbj who has publicly vouched for tt, than I don't see you as a real fan.

You guys deserve the lost years all over again
