2015 Cleveland Browns Regular Season Thread

This team will not get the #1 pick in the draft. They will end up between 4-6 wins which puts them in the top 10 most likely again. They are proving they aren't an awful football team. They have a lot of nice pieces and quality depth but they have no difference makers.

My prediction for the rest of the year
The defense has been awful and it will get better. They will play a few games where they are lights out but on the whole they will be the disappointment this season

McCown will look serviceable for most of the year

Manziel will be put into service because McCown will be dinged up. The only way I see them making a QB change when McCown is healthy is after week 12 and they are clearly out of it. At that point I think they can sell the locker room they want to see what they have.

I really hope Pettine survives the year and is here long term. I think you can win with him. Farmer, I want them to keep but man he's gotta hit big in the 1st and 2nd round this year.

Other than purely for stability's sake, why?

Honestly curious if there's a good reason to keep him beyond not rebuilding the front office again and the inevitable lack of interest from quality people that comes with it. The Browns are at a point where they have to worry about firing bad people because they'll only be able to replace them with similarly incompetent people. It's a vicious cycle of suck.
 
Stability is important. Frankly, I think he knows what he's doing but he made some rookie GM mistakes. He didn't dig deep enough into Gilbert's head and he let others push him around on Manziel. He has a clear blue print of what he wants to do, build up the lines to run the ball well and stop the run while having a secondary that can play 1 on 1. The team hasn't responded yet but it's still early.

He hasn't had enough time to build his team yet and that's the problem with the Browns. We start a program that takes multiple seasons and multiple drafts but can the guys before they can actually finish the plan. I like Farmer's foundation and philosophy even though some of the high picks have hurt us. I'd like them to use the high picks this year on skill players (QB, WR, TE) and see what they can do from there.

But I would agree, his leash is shorter than it was last year.

Never a good sign when the guy supposed to be the best player on the defense is actually the worst. :chuckle:

Steelers - Blowout loss after a disappointing season.

I am just hard pressed to find 4-5 more wins from this team. Our defense can get better, but our schedule is still brutal. I can see maybe 3 more wins from them. And if we are close to getting the 1st, I would hope they put Mingo at QB to secure that #1 pick.

I agree. I'm not seeing it.

Then again, the other way to look at it is this game was a win if Tramon isn't offsides. Offense played pretty a solid game.

We'll see. Still too early to say how many wins this team is going to get but...if I were a betting man, it'd be less than 6.
