2015 Cleveland Browns Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't see these wins everyone is talking about. Right now we're being carried by our offense. That won't last.

This is also the same team that threw in the towel for the 2nd half of the Jets game in a season opener. They're coming off a devastating loss this week. Next week they play the Ravens in Baltimore where they haven't won since 2007. And then they get Denver. Let's just say they lose those 2 games. How do you keep this team from checking out at 1-5 with no easy opponent until San Fran in Week 14?

This could snowball pretty badly. It would be different if we were coming out of this easy stretch 3-1 but I really don't see how they can salvage the season at this point and at some point, they'll start feeling the same way.

Can we rent Phil Dawson for that game? I mean he did beat them...

I also find it very hard to how many disappointments their are on defense. Kirksey, Shelton, Mingo, Haden, Kruger lead the charge.

According to these numbers, it's virtually impossible for the Browns to run the ball to the right. Schwartz, Barnidge, Dray and M. Johnson all significantly in the negative on run blocking.

So, should we make anything out of T. Williams and Freddy Kruger calling out O'Neil's defense for being too easy for the opposing team to suss out what we're doing? Or is this just a case of the defense trying to pin the blame on anybody but themselves for their poor performance?

Pet seems to be trying to sweep the chatter under the rug like last week's unnamed TMZ report, but I hope he realizes that if he doesn't get his defense in order he won't have to worry much longer about who's playing QB.

When I was paying attention to Dray blocking, he was abysmal. Can EJ Bibbs not block at all?

I've never seen anything like this. Maybe how the Tigers are one of the highest paid MLB teams and didn't make the playoffs, but I think this takes the cake.

We are now officially the worst defense in the NFL

Ranked 32nd in yards allowed per game.

Friendly reminder this has come against Ryan Fitzpatrick, Mariotta(the one game we weren't cow poop), Carr, and Rivers (with half an offense).

The following are the NFL ranks on how much we spend on each defensive positional group:
Secondary- 2
Linebackers- 3
Defensive Line- 17

And of course, aggregately we have the highest paid defense in the NFL.

This is the worst defense in the league. We have played cream puff offenses, or offenses in complete shambles.

Take your pick between player evaluation and player development (personally I like both) that's the problem, but how anyone can look at this and say it's not a complete embarrassment is beyond me. Continuity with the WRONG guys in place isn't any better than a coaching carousel. The highest paid being the worst isn't even same old Browns. It's worse.

Can we talk about our team leader, Joe Haden, deciding not to play because he had a broken finger and hurt ribs?

That's pretty pathetic, IMO. No wonder we are so soft.

Joe Thomas is a bad, bad man.

I shutter to think about when he eventually retires. Guess I'll just enjoy him while he's here.
Mack has been pure shit this entire season. Think he's going to need another year to fully recover

He isn't Nick McDonald bad, but I've seen linemen occasionally juke past him. That used to never happen. When he engages, he is still a decent center. I'm hopeful he isn't going to opt out of his contract with his current play.

Maybe Terrelle Pryor could bulk up and they bring him back to play Center next camp..

As @AZ_ showed with the PFF numbers yesterday, it's not like he's exactly been stellar on the field anyways.
