Johnny Manziel: Swan Won't Return His Calls

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I wouldn't. They're too erratic. I wouldn't be against taking them, but would you really lose sleep on not having them?

Hasn't Eli lead the league in turnovers for three different years? He'd be crucified for doing that shit here.

I lose sleep not having a guy for the Browns to build around, a guy who is good enough to win a 'bowl and will be here for his career. That is how I lose sleep. I already know both those guys can win Superbowls.

Granted, I'm assuming age is not a factor. It's a hypothetical and unrealistic questions.

Look, people need to understand that even when you find a franchise talent, he isn't going to play 100% perfect and get a +500 grade from PFF every fucking week.

Yeah, let's not take an above average, Super Bowl winning QB...let's stick to the treadmill of shit we've had at the position the last 15 years.

Not every QB is Joe Montana.

Flacco and Manning, the way they play would get bitched out a lot here. I know this why? Because their own fan bases bitch about them a lot too.

There are not a lot of franchises completely sold on their position. Yes, even these two that have won super bowls. It's what are you doing for me now league. Who cares what was done in the past. There's been poopy ass QB's to have won Super Bowls. I mean, Trent Dilfer won one, we brought his ass here, and sucked dick.

A lot of Giant fans bitched over Eli getting that contract for a reason. Not clear cross the board a lot of Giant fans wanted to move forward with him as the QB.

Not that he isn't worth having as a QB, of course he is. It's just hard to look around the league and find a lot of teams completely confident and sold at that position.

Fans are too picky. I think too many have the aspirations of landing a Tom Brady, Peyton, or Rodgers, and those dreams are usually just that, dreams.

So let's stop acting like the perfect QB is needed. Let's get a guy that's capable of winning games. That's all you can ask for, anything extra is just luck, really.

Joe Thomas has earned the right to say to the media whatever he wants on the subject of football.

The media blitz for Manziel, which has been orchestrated, have only earned angry voice mail messages from the people at Snickers. Whoever orchestrated that TMZ crap just got Joe Thomas's very pointed media brush back. And I love it just as much as his shutdown pass protection.

I respectfully disagree.

Two wrongs don't make a right, and Joe's words are just as childish as the TMZ stunt that Johnny's camp (likely) pulled.

I expect more from the leader of this team.

Well, the better you play as a QB, the worse your PFF is going to be. That's why it's a useful stat.

Any stat that requires 20 minutes of explaining and justification for anomalies is useful.

The other day I was able to breathe 30,000 consecutive breaths. The problem is that 17 of them were real easy breaths to take and less difficult than breathing underwater. I give my lungs a negative 36 for taking the easy way out.

Not the point I was trying to make at all here. Actually the complete opposite.

Every QB in the NFL would get "bitched about" here in Cleveland.

You know how I know this? We had people saying Rodgers played bad after he threw for a bazillion yards and TDs in a blowout win, all because his PFF grade said he played below average.

Whether or not that's the case, CLE has sports fans like any other city and they will complain about the play of their players from time to time.

Lastly, your Dilfer example is bad. The Giants and Ravens did not win those Superbowls in spite of their QB, not even close.

It sounds like everyone is learning a valuable lesson on how much more pull Joe Thomas has than the average Twitter user or Johnny's hangers on. I'm sure the dork who contacted TMZ didn't expect this either. Well, expect it from now on. Now Johnny should stop manipulating the media and do what Aaron Rodgers did behind Favre... learn his craft and keep quiet.

If nothing else, use PFF as a tool to judge if a QB is winning games by being a manager and not making mistakes, or doing things that go above and beyond what the replacement level QB can do with regularity.

As a matter of fact, not one person said Rodgers played poorly.

They just tried to explain the grades.

Apparently some people are just going to refuse to understand it, however.

You missed my point, dude. You don't have to rely on just a QB to win a Super Bowl.

I was just bringing up Dilfer, because you reference two QBs that have won a SB, but have often struggled since then at times.

So bringing what they did in the past is irrelevant. It's about now and going forward.

Wasn't making the case against Eli or Flacco as QBs and what they did. I know they're better QBs than Dilfer.

I just think in general fans get too picky, waiting for the next great QB to be on their team, and those things are rare to happen in this league.

People bitching at McCown's performance this Sunday, are the fans that I feel need to have a Brady/Rodgers guy or its bust. And they'll be living in misery maybe their entire football lives.

And he has. I haven't heard a peep out of him since that debacle happened, and I don't even think he was shown nor was name brought up yesterday.

Again, it just seems like an unnecessary shot at a teammate in the midst of a celebration. Just say this is why we believed in Josh from the beginning; there's no need to bring up Johnny, or the fans calling for Johnny, or Mav's ploy to get his boy on the field. Just say Josh played great and has been playing great, and that's why we believed he should be the starter while Johnny develops behind him.

I totally understand it.

At least, as you explained it.

That's really not relevant to the point I'm making. What's important is that people are going to bitch regardless. Surely you agree.

People are going to complain, players will remain imperfect.

Game threads will remain a social experiment.

Facts of life.
