Jared Cunningham

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He'll probably hit his career average in mpg, so don't worry about it.

He reminds me of a Norris Cole who plays defense. He will find a home and I am rooting for the kid he does give it all and it shown.

Norris Cole? I don't see it at all.
your eyes are something..

he's not a good player, best option we have right now. im not sure he even sees the floor much w this depleted roster.

I understand why the Cavs kept Cunningham over Cooley. In their minds, there probably wasn't really a decision to be made, and I may have made the same call had I been in their position. But my guess is Cooley has more of a future in the NBA than Cunningham.

I guess there is still some chance that he figures things out, but he has been a professional for 3 years, after 3 years in college, and hasn't shown he can play his style of game efficiently in the NBA. After having traded for him, Dallas quickly gave up on him, and it has been downhill ever since. And he wasn't all that good at Oregon State either.

Big opportunity for him the next couple of months. Despite being a former first round pick, he has hardly even played in the NBA, and if he gets a few chances while Kyrie/Shump are out and acquits himself reasonably well, I guess it's possible the Cavs might actually keep him, and if not another team will give him a shot. Otherwise, it's back to the D League.

we didnt keep cooley because we needed a guard badly

Cunningham sucks but he's what we had

Great night from Jared

This kid can really play i'm telling you, I think he forced 2 or 3 turnovers because he stayed in front of his man and he moved his feet extremely well on defense.
so glad we decided to keep him, I can tell Blatt likes him too.

Seems like a nice kid who maybe has found a home? He didn't look lost and seemed to come alive as the game went on. He looks better/with more upside than some high pick rookies (knowing that Cunningham has been around a few years).

I know, small sample size against second/third team, but he has some jets.

Until shumpert and kyrie get back anyway. This team has so much depth everywhere on the roster that it's bonkers.

If he can prove he can get minutes then I think you got to eat the tax. Knowing the injury history of Irving and Shumpert you need another guy who can play D and hit open shots. As we learned last year, one of these roleplayers can be the difference between winning or losing a game in the Finals

With what Dan Gilbert's already up for in luxury tax, I see absolutely no reason to cut Jared "Meaningful Minutes" Cunningham in January to save a few dollars. Especially given the fact that his ability to actually contribute on the floor takes the pressure off our top 6 players in regular season games like tonight when we're up big.

Gilbert's committed - and paying for Cunningham is just another way he'll express his dedication to the ultimate goal.

Yea I'm gonna go with TyGuy on this one. Gilbert is gonna look for SOME way to save some money, and cutting the fifth guard after Irving and Shumpert are back seems like a logical choice. If everyone is healthy, he doesn't see the floor. If only four guys are healthy, he still only sees the floor in very, very limited minutes.

EDIT: Unless they can find a team to take Harris for free. I have to imagine they are lowkey looking around for someone to take Harris off their hands.
