New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm really liking 'master of none' It seems like a nice mix of 'extras' with the stylings of 'Louie' Great job by Aziz Anari

Running through The Sopranos right now on Prime, for the hell of it.

Kind of hooked on Quantico. Some bad acting here and there, but some hot chicks and it keeps you hooked with all the cliff hangers at the end of every episode.

Hooked on The Blacklist.

The Man in the High Castle is being fully released on Prime in 3 days. Liked the Pilot a while back. It won the "vote on a show to make" thing, I believe.

The Bastard Executioner (SoA dude) is kind of slow. But still giving it a shot

Looking ahead to next year, looking forward to the return of The Americans, Better Call Saul, of course GoT, It's Always Sunny, Narcos, Sherlock, Vikings.

Sure I am forgetting some.

Quick Hits

Fargo is probably the best show on TV right now.

Bastard Executioner was cancelled which isn't much of a surprise considering how much it dragged and never seemed to develop.

Master of None is a fun and easy watch.

Jessica Jones drops Friday which should be really good.

Into the Badlands was pretty entertaining to me. Will tune into the rest of the season.

Just got though season one of Fargo. it's good, and I know season two us supposed to be ridiculous, but the leftovers is on another planet

Got a couple of episodes left, but I'm loving it. Kind of surprised. I'm not a big Aziz fan, don't really think he is that funny. Voice can get annoying too at times. But this series is really really good imo. The writing is pretty good and I just like the overall tone. It is entertaining. I would imagine they continue it and hopefully the next season has more than 10 episodes.

Downloading the first episode of Jessica Jones right now. I'll post my thoughts when I get through with it.

Also, everyone should be watching Fargo. Easily one of the best shows on television right now.

In the process of downloading Jessica Jones and The Leftovers (Fargo I have, but haven't watched yet). Plan on starting these 3 this weekend - am I missing anything else?

First two episodes of Jessica Jones are really good. They do a wonderful job of establishing Kilgrave (David Tennant) as an incredibly threatening character despite him barely even appearing on screen. Pretty clear that he's going to be a phenomenal villain.

I just finished the last episode of the series. It was a very very good take on Jessica Jones from the Alias series of comics. It was not, however, a rendition of the stories that were told in those comics. I see it as more of an inspired by take on her story, as they focused entirely on Kilgrave's portion of Alias. They also changed the specifics of that. But, I am good with the changes, as it fits the story they are trying to tell, and fitting that all in with Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. Mind you, we haven't met Danny Rand yet, but, I expect that to happen during Luke's upcoming series which is suppose to be the next in line.

I loved the acting, choice of actors, and the dialogue for the most part. Just a very solid series. Netflix is proving to be an excellent medium. I am trying to avoid actually discussing any of the specifics at this point as I don't want to spoil anything. I can see why Bendis was pleased with what he saw, even though they really didn't reproduce the stories he wrote.

Fargo season 2 anyone? Fargo season 2?
96 on etacritic.. practically the best rating in history. excited to start it.

..How fucking awful is American Horror story this season? Putrid...

AKA Jessica Jones (3 episodes in)

To each their own i guess. I have no back ground on Jessica Jones or her powers. I am watching it cos Daredevil which took place in the same universe and is also in Netflix was good and i am expecting this to be good as well.

I am not able to enjoy it. 3 episodes in and all i feel is the lack of pace and action and the subpar direction is not captivating my attention. The director is trying to add a more dark feel to this and while it does feel darker than Daredevil it is just not dark enough. And the lack of action is BORING !!! I can forgive that cos maybe this is not a regular action plot. But the lame action sequence that i did see was so bad .... so bad that I am glad there aren't more action sequence. Couldn't they hire a proper fight choreographer ?

The casting - This is one thing that they get it right to a tee. The real life version of the heroes have all the feel you would imagine from the comic version. Also, they are really good actors. However, even good actors can appear average if the director does not have a great way to showcase them.

I dont know how people are raving about this series. 3 episodes into Daredevil - I wanted to watch it till the end and was eager for the next season. 3 episodes into Jessica Jones and I don't know if i want to continue this series or not - I am bored.

Ash Vs Evil Dead

Our one armed chainsaw wielding, wisecracking ASH-hole is back ! And he now has help to fight the deadites. Anyone who likes the Evil Dead movies will love this series - This is a natural continuation filled with everything that made those movies great.

So Ash is now leading a subdued life in a trailer and one day decides to get a druggie chick into his house and as they are smoking the dooby he shows her the book and they read the passage and boom - the portal to the deadite world has been opened and they are slowly coming to earth. And their target - Ash !!! Ash realizing this wants to close the portal and trying to find someone who can translate the book to read the passage that will close the portal before the dead-ites take over.

The first episode was directed by Sam Raimi and man was it fun. I felt like i was watching the movie and I must say i am enjoying it a lot so far. If you are expecting drama and emotion, YOU WILL NOT FIND IT. I would recommend it to people who enjoyed the Evil Dead movies, Z-Nation, Resident Evil movies etc. This shit is fun !!!

You're right in that they basically decided to make a really long movie and break it up. Its great fun and Campbell is on point

Can't remember the name of it, but there was a Bruce Campbell movie where he played himself living in a crappy trailer, and some people come looking for him to help with some Chinese demon or something. Cheesy as hell, but nobody makes cheese as fun as Campbell.

The scene where he first sees the demon is pants-piss funny. The people he led are all trying to fight, he's screaming and running away, firing over his shoulder and taking out the poor townspeople by accident.
