I don't think Jordan would be as dominant playing against zone defenses.

Edit: Isn't the bolded the definition of GOAT? What else really matters?
Here's where I agree and disagree. Would Jordan have averaged 37 in a season or 32,8,8 now? No way. Jordan in his early days wasn't a great jump shooter, but he made himself into one. He never liked shooting threes so he wouldn't shoot may of them now. He would still average somewhere from 30-32 a game, but he would not have had some of the insane seasons he did.

Unfortunately, this is correct.

LeBron doesn't shoot the ball consistently, and let's be honest. As great as he is, and he's great. He doesn't always show up in big games.

That Mavericks finals was absolutely pathetic, and I could never imagine Jordan playing that badly on the biggest stage.

The guy dropped over 40 with a viral flu. It's hard to go against him.

True, his two best 3 point shooting (%) seasons were 95-97, when the 3 point line was shortened to 22 feet.

But if required of him to adapt, I believe he would have willed himself to significantly improve that facet of his game.

You can only play against the competition that's available, but Wilt's competition was pretty weak a lot of games.

LeBron does what he does against an incredibly deep talent pool.

Magic and Bird's competition was great in terms of the amount of stars in the league, but the NBA has never been deeper than it is right now.

LeBron will be GOAT when he gets a couple more rings. If he's not GOAT, then he's second to Jordan.

He could retire today and be top 5. This post is borderline trolling.

Edit: And to contribute to the argument, do you think that if we had Curry instead of Lebron right now, with our injuries, we would be at the top of the East? I sure as hell don't.
It's insane that calling a guy a top ten player of all time is trolling?

Bird is goat. Magic is goat. Duncan is goat. Hakeem is a goat.

The thing is jigs is that anyone with a lot of accomplishments can be considered the greatest. There is a laker fan somewhere saying Kobe is the greatest. That is you.

Cool man.

This is a grammatical nightmare, first of all.

Second, yes. Saying that Lebron fucking James (4 time mvp, 2 time champion, 2 time finals mvp, youngest to ever score X amount of points, rookie of the year, 2 time olympic gold medalist, perrenial all NBA First Team and Defensive First team member, one of 2 players to be in the top 25 in scoring and assists all time, 3rd highest scoring average of all time) *might* crack the top 10 is trolling.

Who are these 10 players ahead of him?

Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem, and Larry Bird to me are all arguably better.

But if I had to make my top-5. In no order, it would be Wilt, Kareem, Jordan, Magic, and LeBron.

Anyone that doesn't think Wilt is one of the best ever, doesn't know jack shit.
I think wilts one of the best ever, but his legacy is hard to pin down.

His numbers were so insane it feels like he had to have been a product of a terrible league and he didn't win as much as he should have.

In fairness, I think Lebron is safely ahead of the Hick from French Lick. I don't think there's a winning argument on Larry's side in that debate.

Unless "DERP 3 RINGS!!!"

The average center was 6-10, there weren't that many teams in his day too. So he didn't play against garbage, he went against many all-time greats.

No one had an answer for him.

Yeah, his numbers are so insane it makes you wonder is my only point.

He wouldn't have averaged 50 a game like he did one year, because the rules have changed so much (largely because of him).

But he'd easily, by far an away be the best big man in the game, if he played today.

He was a freak of nature, like LeBron, but 7-1 and very skilled. As skilled as it gets.

I dunno how people forget this, but the contest isn't between Jordan, Wilt, and Magic. It's between Jordan and Kareem. And I don't think LeBron ends up better than either of those two.
