Do you think the Cavs would have even come close to winning a game if you put Steph on the Cavs and LeBron on the Warriors?

Probably true, but, remember when everyone was still saying Kobe was the best player in the league even when LeBron was doing everything better than him? Kobe had the better team, and didn't need to do as much, and ended up with the Championship a couple of those seasons; but we need to recognize players who are out there getting it done on the floor not admiring what they might do under other circumstances.

And looking at it that way, it's really not even close, Curry is far and away the best player in the league, right now.

Since they play so differently, here is how I see it. Curry is the most dangerous player in the league. He requires so much attention that it gets his teammates wide open looks.

LeBron has the biggest impact on a team of any player in the league. He knows how to control the pace of a game better than anyone, he makes plays for anyone and everyone he's on the court with, and this year he is a defensive terror again.

Whatever matters more to you when it comes to "best player" is entirely your preference.

I do think lebron will crack to ten all time though.

He could retire today and be top 5. This post is borderline trolling.

Edit: And to contribute to the argument, do you think that if we had Curry instead of Lebron right now, with our injuries, we would be at the top of the East? I sure as hell don't.

LeBron is definitely top-5. It's hard to say anyone is better than Jordan though. LB might be his equal, both are different. But better? No way.

I'll say this, and I've said numerous times. I don't think any player makes his team better like LeBron. You could throw in Magic I suppose, but he spent his entire career playing with great talent, too.

But no one dominated the game individually as a perimeter player like Jordan.

I don't think Jordan would be as dominant playing against zone defenses.

Edit: Isn't the bolded the definition of GOAT? What else really matters?

I find that hard to believe he wouldn't. Today's game is totally catered to offense. It's not like Jordan couldn't shoot, either.

He proved he could dominate the game from below the basket.

As for your EDIT, no because different positions and different styles of play. For example, point guards are going to make their teams better than a center. Does that mean every point guard should be better than centers?

Does that mean Magic Johnson is automatically better than Jordan? Kareem?

No. It's not like those guys didn't make others around them better, but they could completely dominate a game themselves like we've never seen, too.

Disagree - says LeBron

The greatest of all-time argument should ultimately be "If I needed 1 player to win a game for me, who would I pick?"

Who would you pick?

Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem, and Larry Bird to me are all arguably better.

But if I had to make my top-5. In no order, it would be Wilt, Kareem, Jordan, Magic, and LeBron.

Anyone that doesn't think Wilt is one of the best ever, doesn't know jack shit.
