Wait, so a few months ago he was suing the mother claiming he wasn't the father, and now he's all lovey-dovey and naming the kid after his mother? Good for him for taking responsibility, but still seems like a very confusing situation.

Also, this is the selfish fan in me, but seems like it could be a huge distraction this season. First couple of months of a kid are hard. I assume he'll just write the mother a giant check and live someplace where the kid isn't waking him up every two hours?

He's a fucking millionaire. He's not waking up at 3:32 AM to go get the baby a binky and some Enfamil.

It's been reported that he's asked the kid to be raised in Texas anyway.

Kyrie's biggest challenges are mental. "Get buckets" is not the motto of a winner.

The sooner he realize this, the sooner he closes the gap between him and Curry and perhaps eclipses him.
.
Or maybe it's the motto to a hilarious viral ad campaign?

Curry is the best player in the league. Yeah it would be great if Kylie surpasses him.

kyrie getting his kangaroo care on

real men do that w their kids. just watch ur nipples

Nah bruh, this is just the Gaylord Focker school of breast feeding. Anything with nipples...

I think he needs to improve his defense, specifically defending the three point line would be a priority of mine. I would actually encourage the "get buckets" motto. There is this stigma that if you are sub 6'4" that you must be this prototypical pass first guy or you get ripped for being "a shooting guard in a point guards body." Well, how many guys in the league regardless of size have Kyrie's scoring ability?

I'm not saying that he should only be a scorer, but golden state found out the steph is a much better scorer than anything else, and has surrounded him with other guys that can initialize the offense to tap into his incredible scoring prowess.

LeBron is a top notch scorer and playmaker, delly has turned himself into quite the playmaker. When Kyrie is on the floor with those guys I would like to tap into his scoring prowess because he is such a fantastic three point shooter off the catch and the dribble; plus he can get anywhere on the floor he wants with his dribble and can finish really well around the basket.

The defense is where we will see the most net gain from an improvement from him. Getting out on shooters, keeping those active hands and improving on how he navigates screens would be huge for this team.

Kyrie slumped after his rookie season because defenses adjusted and he did not. It's a lot harder for defenses to focus on him now, but at crucial moments they will, and that's when his decision making had better be solid.

Steph doesn't drive in to 3 guys and force up a shot just to "get buckets". Great players and teams have a response for each situation thrown at them. It's a huge difference between a star and a superstar.

And for a player who's not a pure PG consider that Steph dished out 10+ assists last season on 24 different occasions. Kyrie has done so 21 times ...

... in his career!

Fortunately, Kyrie has shown some improvement in his decision making, play making, and defense. It just all needs to continue.

I saw a link a few months ago that he was attempting to establish paternity. Mother was a Texas beauty queen Iirc. It was one of the tabloid type sites, so take it fwiw. Obviously he must be the daddy, so good for him, and good for the child. Daddy on a max contract is a nice head start to life.

Well, given he named the kid and gave her the last name Irving, it sure looks like he came to an agreement with the Mother.

Fuck his baby. Let's talk about the ballplayer Kyrie Irving. You know, our 3rd all-star player, arguably our best offensive player....Who is set to return in the short future.

Obviously Steph Curry ascended to another level of greatness in his 7th season.

I'd like to compare where Steph was in year 5 to where Irving is now.

It's not like Kyrie Irving is lacking in any fundamental skill that Curry has.

Curry's shot will always be a little bit better than Kyrie, but Kyrie is no slouch shooter.

I'd argue that Kyrie's finishing ability at the basket is better than any player in the league, including Steph. Obviously Steph is no slouch at finishing.

I'm very curious to see where Kyrie is in his 7th season. He's shown all the signs of being an impossibly dominant guard in this league. He's got some of that juice that Steph has . The question is, when Kyrie hits year 7: is he an MVP candidate?

Here's some Kyrie Irving year 4 highlights to remind you what's forthcoming for our team. We might be 16-0 too if we had this cat. Don't forget that..... as the Warriors cock-sucking fest continues.
