2019 Cavs

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Think this team makes playoffs. Going to be a fun season.

I would put money on no playoffs this year. Unless Kevin Love magically turns back into the superstar we once thought he was, this lineup isn't better than the Wizards, Bucks, or even the Heat. We've got an excellent shot at keeping our first.

Right, there's also the post-Lebron malaise that seems to overtake a team when he leaves. I mean, Wade/Bosh/Whiteside and Dragic seems like an OK team, and they couldn't crack 40 W's. (granted Bosh blood clot was big on that one)

Love is not on the level of DeRozan.

DeRozan was the best player on a team that was a #1 seed. Love still has a lot of value, but not as much as a young labeled "star."

Love is a whopping 11 months older than DeRozan.

I didn't think the dinosaur was having blood clot issues in the 14-15 season, only the next, but he was starting to decline in the former season.

I’d be surprised if we won 32 games next year. I think 25 is more likely than 40. Like a lot more likely. I’m curious when next years win totals come out to see what Vegas thinks. If they set it at like 37 I’ll bet the under heavily. I think they’ll set it at like 31 with the expectation we’ll likely move Love at some point in the season. We’re going to be really bad. I wouldn’t be shocked if we were a 20 win team with a Love trade or injury.

I think we are going to be better than people think. I think cedi, sexton and zizic will be better than people think.
Getting rid of JR would be addition by subtraction
Clarkson and Hood will be better without LBJ and in a more structured offense

Love and Korver will be dealt so I am not saying playoffs by any stretch

I do think we will hustle our way to 35 games.

I got my wine and gold glasses on and not taking them off.

I will go even further and say in year two..... two out of cedi, sexton, zizic and nance will be borderline all-stars

Ok, gotta go for more kool aid now

Weren't the Cavs basically garbage juice when LeBron was off the court last year? I don't think they're going to be very good this year. Sexton is going to struggle (I'll say 41% fg next year). I don't think we have 2 future all stars (not counting love) on the roster. We shall see.

Cavs fans are irrational. ie. JJ Hickson was a potential future all star too.

This team is not going to be good, imo. I think they end up selling Love, Hill, JR and Korver by the deadline when it's clear we aren't making the playoffs.

Even if they commit to being a more ball movement/share the wealth kind of team, it's not like you have a bunch of guys you are totally confident being the decision maker at the end of those passes. I'd love to see us be kind of the '19 version of the '18 Pacers, but Olidipo was very much a plus plus option for them that Sexton, Cedi, Hill, JR aren't for the Cavs.

Hope I'm wrong and Cedi makes a serious leap, Hood gets his mojo (back? did Rodney Hood have a mojo at one point, or just had a nice scoring stretch in Utah?), Love forces Dan to play "Love Is All You Need" on the PA after every bucket and things click for Sexton way earlier than they do for most rookies.

I think this is far more likely. This roster feels more 2017 "Nets-y" vs 2017 "Pacers-y" to me.

Yes, the Cavs were garbage with LeBron on the bench last year, but they were always waiting for him to come back in the game. Without that option, this team will be forced to find an identity without LeBron, so I don't think last year can be used as a guide. Don't get me wrong, I think the current roster is somewhere between mid-to-late lottery and sneaking into 8-seed, but some identity will develop that we didn't see at all last year.

Team that will be better than the Cavs (East) with Love/Korver/Hill.

(1) Boston Celtics
(2) Toronto Raptors
(3) Philadelphia Sixers
(4) Indiana Pacers
(5) Milwaukee Bucks
(6) Washington Wizards
(7) Detroit Pistons
(8) Miami Heat

Charlotte, New Yorks Knicks (healthy Porzingis) and Chicago Bulls ($$ committed) will probably be better. If we played a 7 game series against the Nets, we're not winning that either but the Nets might tank this season so who knows.

I think they've done a good job of selling to the world, their desire to keep Love, however I don't think they'll be stupid enough to gun for an 11-14 spot (I don't think we'll be close with Lue/Longo/Jones as a coaching staff, as overachieving requires good to great coaches).

This is how I feel. I mean, who on the team except Love is better than replacement average starter?

Even if Sexton is really good, rookies just are inefficient and they play bad defense. Even if he’s going to turn into Westbrook, RW shot 39% from the field and had a .489ts his rookie year. And he had 2 years of college under his belt. Rookies are almost always bad unless they can be small role players on good teams.

Cedi and Zizic look like maybe they’ll become solid contributors, but it won’t be yet.

You line us up against anyone, even with Love, we’re not clearly better than anyone. Without him, I don’t know who we are better than. Even the teams equal in talent have better coaches. It’s going to be a long year.

Kevin Love is way injury prone too, even if he somehow turns to leading team.We will lose games with him sitting out due to injury.

Can Love improve and meet the value Koby is seeking without getting hurt in his last guaranteed season will be the storyline for the upcoming season. Every playoff team can use him but very few have the young player/future assets we’re looking for and even less want to give it up at this point.

honestly think he would fit in well with the lakers. We would have to take back deng.... would they give us Hart and maybe a pick?

or send him home to Portland. They need to make a change. McCollum ?

Philly could use him and they have young players

I am worried about the injury thing. The sooner the better. GM's know what he can do and they also know his numbers would naturally go down from Minny having to play with LBJ and Kyrie

Lebron doesn't want Love.

Love probably doesn't want Lebron either.
