2019 Potential Free Agency Targets

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Steelers’ offer to him last season was reportedly 5 years $70M with $33M guaranteed.

He turned that down and skipped out on the $14.5M he would have made playing on the franchise tag last season...for this.

And that’s strictly talking $. He also ended up leaving the Steelers...for the Jets.

Damn man Jets and Browns could both be fun this year.

The fuck is going on?

Definitely expect the Browns-Jets game to be a prime time game again this season.

Given their draft position and what they’ve added in free agency, they very well could contend for a wild card spot this season.

ETA: Depends on how well Darnold plays this year, obviously.

I'm not buying into the Jets at all yet. Darnold needs to take a fairly large leap for them to be relevant next season.

Yup... one year less and $2 mil more guaranteed with the Jets. Gambled on himself and really didn’t make out much better.

I thought he looked pretty good at times and like a rookie at others. Just about what you want to see from a rookie QB. I think he's gonna be a real good QB in the NFL and the Jets seem to be going all-in. The Jets have a chance to be good this year.

Baker is the exception not the rule for QB's.

Darnold is more realistic.

Yeah, I think the Jets might be going all-in a year too soon. But hey, they're giving their young QB a major weapon that will help him succeed. They have some decent receivers and a good young TE too.

I was sort of feeling the same way about us, but I'm not John Dorsey.

I actually wanted to keep 17 and go with a DT, then draft some guy who fell in the 2nd or 3rd round that had some length.

...Again. I am not John Dorsey.

I guess we are indeed at the point where we can go insane with signings and trades. Much like how the 2014-2015, 2015-2016 Cavs were.

I agree with all this.

Nah,

Steelers offer was 5 years $70M with only $10M guaranteed. Given how things played out with them they could've easily cut his ass this off season and he would've only made $10M.

NYJ gave him $35M guaranteed. He won. Gurley got $45M guaranteed but only $21M is fully guaranteed. David Johnson got $24M fully guaranteed. Le'Veon Bell got $35M fully guaranteed.

He also saved a year of wear and tear and got to take a year off and smoke weed. He also doesn't have to take handoffs from Big Bathroom anymore.

Oh and he didn't leave The Steelers for The Jets. He left Pittsburg for New York.......

Took a year off and still became the highest paid RB in the league. He won.

So you’re saying the reported offer from the Steelers was misreported?

The rest of your points are opinions you’re entitled to, but I disagree and could easily spin them the other way.

Say what you want about the cities. But he started the tear down of a Super Bowl contender and left for a totally unproven situation with the Jets.

Jets are going to be a really good team. Darnold's second-half of the year was outstanding, Gase is a brilliant offensive mind, and they've added talent.

Their biggest question will be Gregg's defense. I am not sure they have the secondary talent required to play his aggressive scheme. But these signings certainly help.

I've been hoping for OBJ for some time now. His frustration (IMO) is not touches - its that Eli doesn't have an arm anymore (did he ever). I see so many underthrows when watching the Giants - that's the most frustrating thing for a Receiver - getting open and not having an opportunity to make a play. Offense would be dynamic with him in the fold.

Although others brought his name up first....from December 2018. Posted then, but had hoped it would happen when we got Juice....which was months before. Knew of their connection at LSU, and wanted the situations to align to make it happen. Happy as hell it did.

This guy is brilliant? Don't tell that to Jarvis or any of the Phins
