Honestly, I expected worse growing pains adding Mitchell to Garland in terms of wins/losses. I was telling people I wouldn’t be surprised if we were 10–10 to start with 4 against Boston/Bucks.

Obviously Garland missed a stretch, so we are still in early stages, but we’ve blended much more seamlessly than many of these other backcourt pairings. Trae/Murray have looked bad many nights, including tonight shooting 9/32.

The DG/Mitchell stuff is nonsense. They’ve been really good together overall.

Tonight was a much better team , banged up , playing down to its competition. Effort absolutely was at issue tonight and it’s no surprise the bench kept us in it until the talent woke up and overwhelmed.

Both teams ended up 8-28 from 3. We were 28-33 from the line (Garland and Mitchell a combined 23-25), while Pistons were 14-26. WOOF.

We only committed 14 turnovers tonight - Cedi, Mobley, and Mitchell with 3, Garland and Diakite with 2. Okoro had a nice game off the bench - 7 points, 6 boards, and a team-high +14, in 30 minutes (whoa - that’s a lot of minutes for Okoro).

I think an issue I see right now is that it feels like we have two combo guards and no point guard.

Maybe that works but I do wonder what we'd look like if Garland just took on more of a floor general, lets get into the offense, role.

Turns out that adding Garland to Mitchell was the hard part.

See you , fellas. It’s The White Lotus time followed by Springsteen on HBO. It’s not TV, it’s HBO

Good lord. Zubac had himself a Wilt.
Yeah, I noticed that. It's hard to imagine Wilt averaging 24 RPG--for a 14-year career.

@SanduskyCav

Garland did put his hands up when he didn't get the ball. Those types of things are very subjective i'd say. He didn't really do a Dion Waiters type wtf. He seemed to not know what Mitchell was doing. Again its all subjective and who knows, Garland could totally be throwing a fit. It would be uncharacteristic but who knows?

That play could have been designed to get Garland the ball there.

It was around :54 seconds for anyone who wants to rewatch.
Agreed, definitely subjective to opinion. I interpreted it as frustration as he was open and Mitchell somewhat turned his back to him.
