Re: Matt Barnes Watch 2009

Barnes was probably the most consistent defender on a horrible Suns defense last year. He is a guy that Mike Brown can work with on that end of the court, because he is willing to play defense, and he has the skill set to do it effectively. The big problem for him on that end has been that he's never played for a defensive oriented team, nor has he been coached by defense oriented coaches.

On offense he does like to shoot spot up jumpers. He will slash to the basket as well. The big problem I saw with him on the offensive end last year was that he was incredibly streaky, and his performance seemed to come and go. But, he was playing on a team that was in a transitional phase for the majority of the year. The first half of the season was spent with Terry Porter, and most of the players had a hard time performing mainly because their point guard played horribly. Moving from that environment to break neck pace under Gentry can mess a lot of players up.

Personally, I think that Barnes can fit in nicely for the Cavs. I don't think he can play PF, unless they're playing against an incredibly small team. He is fairly lengthy, but he is light.

First of all, just about any suns fan and they'll tell you Grant Hill was the most consistent defender they had last year. Barnes plays garbage defense almost all the time. On offense his shot is streaky, but even when he's on it isn't that great. Plus. he turned the ball over a hell of a lot considering how much he had the ball in his hands (almost never). You said it yourself, he sucked under Porter and played okay under Gentry. Mike Brown's system is a whole lot more like Porter's than Gentry's.

Now HERE is Mo Williams OFFICIAL Twitter account....not that other fake crap.

(notice he responds to WestFo3)
...anyway the thing I wanted to say was that Mo said
"Matt barnes will be a good look for the Cleveland Cavs. Quote

Regardless of all that, the collection of the people and organizations Mo is following on twitter is off the charts on the unintentional comedy scale. i mean, you can't make this stuff up.

Mo "Gotti", starting point guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers, follows

--Jack Dorsey

--CNN Breaking News
--NPR Politics
--Pen Jillette
--Ellen DeGeneres
--Ashley Tisdale
--Demi Moore

Well, I can think of some reasons:

Jack Dorsey - Head twit, nuff said
Greg Grunberg - Working on his telepathy for some sick no-looks
David Allen - Gonna get things done this season
Paula Abdul - Loves to Rush Rush down the court
Pen Jillette - Needs to work on his pregame dance moves
Ellen DeGeneres - Ditto
Ashley Tisdale - I got nothing...maybe his daughter picked this one
Demi Moore - MILF
Chelsea Lately - To keep up with Demi Moore

I wouldn't mind Barnes, but why is this a watch thread?

Re: Matt Barnes Watch 2009

Wonder who they are talking too since we have the majority of our MLE left? Kleiza.

Re: Matt Barnes Watch 2009

It makes me wonder when Windy says we aren't talking contract right now, maybe that means we might when Ferry gets back from Vegas, or maybe I'm just reading too much into this.

Re: Matt Barnes Watch 2009

Cavs are in minor discussions with Atlanta, Golden State, and Denver.about 4 hours ago from web

We have heard brother redbush say that

Lamarcus Aldridge could be had if Blazers sign Millsap. Cavs may have interest.about 1 hour ago from web

Really:confused:...I dont buy this at all

Not sure if he is reliable

Re: Matt Barnes Watch 2009

Not reliable. Just one of the trolls from here made up a twitter.

Yeah, Portland has already said that they would Take Millsap off the bench anyways behind Aldridge who is their future along with Roy.

Aldridge is one of my favorite non cavs players I think he is just as good as Bosh if not better. The main difference in their stats is that bosh gets more touches becuase he has a much less supporting cast...also Bosh roubound more because they are not a good rebounding team like portland is. IBut, Aldridge is a bit taller and bigger than Bosh and can bang more than Bosh can. Both have sweet 18 foot jumpers and are athletic. ts not going to happen, but one can dream.

I agree with you. I love LMA and have for a while and he is long and tall and skilled just like Gasol is and i would love to get him. I wish it was possible but like you said we can all dream.
