OT: Derek Jeter becoming the all time Yankee hit king

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
How one can pass on congratulating the greatest professional of our time is beyond me...Jeter is the epitome of what you want from your athlete...

Great player.. Classy Player..

Truly a shame some cannot appreciate this guy...

Thanks for making my point....

Thanks for making my point....
But can you really name 3 more high profiled athletes that has accomplished as much in such a clean fashion ?

The guy has won 4 titles, has quietly put up hall of fame numbers, while creating some of the greatest clutch plays of all time-- and has done so with class and dignity...You don't read negative press about Jeter.. He just keeps on producing, and does so in about as professional of a way as can be done..

The only other guy I can think of is Tom Brady, but he hasn't done it nearly as long... Peyton Manning hasn't won as much, Pujols hasn't won nearly as much... Jordan was pretty spectacular, but had gambling issues, Magic Johnson had issues... Maybe Larry Bird, Kareem, Gretzky and Emmitt Smith ?? but that was awhile ago..

The combination of years in, star status, winning, numbers, clutchness, and professionalism-- Jeter is above and beyond most...

congrats to jeter, its one hell of an accomplishment

but he still cant play defense to save his life.

You're not a real baseball fan unless you hate the Yankees, known fact.

Mel Hall for starters...

1. Woods
2. Federer
3. Phelps

I would congrat Jeter if I knew 100% sure, he didn't take PED's (performance enhancing drugs). However, I don't believe that. I don't trust any baseball player this day in age. In fact, I bet he's juicing some how right now.

I was a mini-fan of Jeter before he really started playing major league baseball. A friend of mine played with him where he grew up (Kalamazoo, MI). I worked with this guy during the summer of 1994, and all he talked about was Jeter. Hmmm....

I hate this thread.
He obviously isnt that good if the Indians knocked Jeter and the Yankees out of the playoffs in 2007.

After a couple of championships, we'll be able to put Lebron in this category as well.

True professional, never hear any negative press except for the tiniest possible non-issues, and yet still tons of people will hate on him simply because he's so good and he's not on their team.

If we are only counting gay athletes, it is tough to deny. I'm thinking Billy Jean King, Martina Navratilova, then Jeter.
