I can't imagine Ferry professionally asking Kerr to take Z(buyout), Green and a crap pick for sTAt.

Kerr botched it royally and he'll have to pay for it. I'm sure Sarver is not happy with him right now. Regardless, it's probably best if we all forget about Amar'e Watch.

I still can't help but feel like it was a big smokescreen to land Jamison... either way, we got the guy we have been pursuing since last year, virtually for free. Ferry is a fuckin klepto...

Really, you're right 100%. It'll just sting worse. We got Jamison, he should help us to a title this year. We'll see what happens after that.

I think Kerr might just be out after this year... this is twice in a row that he has botched an opportunity to get something for an unhappy player who will likely walk after this season is over, assuming he gets nothing tomorrow.
 
Ehhh.... If that report is true, it must just show how much Ferry like JJ.

In his mind, he must have thought getting Tawn for a pick is better than getting STAT for JJ and a pick. But he must have thought STAT > Jamison for just a pick (+Green to PHO).

Add in the fact that Phoenix could screw us and Amare could leave at end of the year, and I see why Ferry made his decision.
 
Can't we just be happy and look forward to THIS season and next?

The only way Ferry is right (if that is how it went down) is if he is 110% sure JJ Hickson will be close to what Stoudemire is.

That is one reason. I don't think JJ has to be close to what Amare is (a top 5 PF). But he better at least be a good player (15 & 8 ish).

But no matter what reports come out, or what W&G says, we will never truly know what was going on in the conversations with Ferry and Kerr.

If Ferry was really getting nervous he could get screwed by Phoenix again, then that is another reason he made the right decision.

He also made the right decision if he thinks Amare was not basically a lock to stay here after this season. IMO, there is no chance it would have been a lock. Amare has said too many times he wants to go to Miami and that he loves Mike D'Antoni.

No evidence Lakers would have interest, but Danny Ferry kept an eye on T-Mac this season. That said, unclear if either team would want him.
