I still can't believe that it's only been a few months since everyone, including myself, was amped up for what looked to be an awesome, championship run with the two time MVP leading the charge.
All of the stories about LeBron being "more determined than ever" and "having a look in his eye that has never been seen from him before". I also want to kick myself for eating all of that up and privately pounding my chest in anticipation of what was to come.
I envisioned our hometown hero bringing us a Larry O Brien trophy and then sticking it to the rest of the league who tanked the past two years to add cap space to take him from us when he announced that he wasn't going anywhere, ever. The Cavs had the best player in basketball, an owner who cared and spent like he cared, we had a bunch of talent on the roster that complimented LBJ in every way.
I just can't believe that that "look" in his eye ended up being him scheming on how to lose so he could get the hell out of town.
In the end, do I hate LeBron James with every fiber in my being and do I want him to fail and want bad things to happen to him? Of course.
But would I, with what I know now, knowingly take a time machine(which would wipe my memory of the last two years clean) back to the day after we acquired Mo Williams and do it all over again? To be quite honest....absolutely.
Watching the Cavaliers the last two years, playoff disappointments aside, has just been a fucking awesome experience, it's a shame it had to end how it did. Here's to hoping that we can figure out a way to put this mess behind us and become a formidable team again, and hopefully without waiting 10+years for it to happen.
