I was begging for them to let Benjamin be the return man for the rest of the game.
This guy is making re-signing Cribbs less & less important.

He signed a 3 year deal in March 2010.

So i guess this raises the question whats everyone's feelings on keeping Cribbs?
Id take him on a hometown discount because i do feel he truly understands what the fans are all about and how much the Browns mean to this city...But at this point in his career i feel that actually Benjamin may be the better returner...

I think he is a very easy no to re-signing...He's not worth the money as a strictly special teams player when he has lost a lot of his speed and talent. The Browns have a replacement in Benjamin ready, it's time to cut ties with Cribbs.

Depends on what his contract is. Benjamin, fast as he is seems like he can get hurt pretty easily. So we need Cribbs to cover the duties with him provided the Price is Right.

Yeah... I've been arguing with one of my good friends for a while about this. He loves Cribbs, but I'm trying to help him see my point. Nothing against Cribbs, he was great for his first 5 seasons (10 total return TDs); but his last 3 seasons, counting this one, he has ONE total return TD.
Granted that was Benjamin's first TD return (93 yards), his other two PR on the season: 40 and 16 yards.
Dude clearly has talent and speed for days. I wish they would utilize him more in the punt game. They're probably just worried about making Cribbs an even less focal point than he already is. God knows he is complaining he isn't used enough every week to the papers...

Honestly, I think a guy like Cribbs is good for this team. He is someone that is well-recognized and well-respected around the league. He can be one of those players that the young guys model themselves after as far as their off-field behavior, involvement in the city, and what it means to be a Cleveland Brown. Of course, I'm not saying you give him a multi-year multi-million dollar contract to just be an icon and spokesperson on the team, but if he is willing to take a hometown discount, I'm all for keeping him. There are plenty of worse players we could use that roster spot on.
