CLEVELAND – The Cleveland Cavaliers have assembled a summer league team of young veterans and free agents, including reigning 2011-12 Kia NBA Rookie of the Year Kyrie Irving, All-Rookie Second Team member Tristan Thompson and 2012 draft picks Dion Waiters (fourth overall) and Tyler Zeller (17th overall), to participate in the 2012 NBA Summer League, Cavaliers General Manager Chris Grant announced today from Cleveland Clinic Courts.

The 2012 NBA Summer League will be held July 13-22 in Las Vegas, NV with the Cavaliers playing a five-game schedule at the COX Pavilion and Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. The Cavaliers have competed in the league each summer since its inception in 2004.

The Cavs will open summer league play with three games in three consecutive days: a contest versus Charlotte on Sunday, July 15th, a matchup against the NBA D-League Select Team on Monday, July 16th and a showdown against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday, July 17th. Cleveland closes summer league with back-to-back games on Thursday, July 19th versus Minnesota and Friday, July 20th against the New York Knicks.

He's been listed in other articles and Lloyd mentions him here:

"The most intriguing name among the nonroster players is Kevin Jones, who became the third player in Big East history to lead the conference in scoring (19.9 points) and rebounding (10.9). The West Virginia standout was projected to be a second-round pick, but went undrafted, perhaps because of his undersize 6-foot-7 frame. If Jones plays well in Vegas, it could lead to an offer from the Cavs. Both sides have discussed a contract for next season."

"A noteable omission is Kevin Jones, the undrafted power forward who was linked to the team just moments after the 2012 NBA Draft came to a conclusion. There is no word on the situation between the two parties, but Cavaliers’ basketball operations states that Jones is presently not on the Summer League roster. Free agents are able to sign with teams after midnight tonight."

Justin Holiday (Jrue's brother) is a new name. Perhaps he was a late addition when Kevin Jones went elsewhere or was unable to play.

Ah. That would make sense.

If Waiters and Zeller are playing as Drafts picks, why wouldn't K Jones suit up???? Maybe with pending trade K. Jones is lookig else where?

Update for those looking for WVA's Kevin Jones on #Cavs summer roster: he's sitting with an injury, expects to be in training camp.

Add one more to the Cavaliers' roster, even though he's not listed on the summer league team: Kevin Jones.
The West Virginia forward has an agreement to join the Cavaliers in training camp, according to his agent, but will sit out the Las Vegas summer league because of an injury.
Jones suffered a bruised bone in his heel when working out prior to the NBA draft, and needs about three weeks for the injury to fully heal, agent Bill Neff said.
Jones, a 6-foot-8 forward, led the Big East in points (19.9) and rebounds (10.9) last season
