2012 Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
if the Cavs are locked in on picking Barnes i'm all for it...move down and get the 2nd lottery pick

on a side note they should wait with that trade till they know who's gonna be available at #4 (if Beal/MKG somehow falls...)

I'm sure Portland feels the same way. If for some reason the player they REALLY want is gone, then they'd probably rather hold onto the two top 11 picks.

That said, I think the trade is great if the FO thinks it's great -- it essentially means that we think we can build most of our core this year.

But it also means that we will NOT be signing a FA since we will have 4 lottery picks to develop, Alonzo Gee, and whomever we select with the second rounders.

Meyers Leonard at 11. Great fit next to TT and an appropriate place for selecting him. He's a fairly good free throw shooter for a big man which would also be a plus.

Irving
? - draft SG with both second rounders, and hopefully hit on one of them
Barnes
Thompson
Leonard

EDIT: Zeller is also an option.

id rather do the portland trade get lamb and barnes. then trade av to houston for 14 or 16 then we grab leonard then

irving
lamb
barnes
tt
leonard

It's too bad that people on an internet forum think they know more than the Cavs front office.

If you read my previous posts I mention that my thoughts on Barnes were based on the rumors, which I didn't know were true. Should I add in some arrogant remark into this post? I'll pass

well last year the majority of the posters wanted Big V who according to several draft analysts including Chad Ford (who's very reliable) would be the consensus 2nd pick in a much stronger draft this year...

and it's too bad that people on an internet forum think the cavs front office cannot possibly ever be wrong. ever.

I think they've made mistakes already -- like letting Danny Green go -- he would've made a great role player off the bench.

But we don't have shit compared to their information when it comes to draft prospects. If they think Barnes is our guy, then I won't have a problem with it.

I hate the idea of drafting Drummond, but if the Cavs think he's our guy, then I don't have a problem with it.

I'm able to admit that I'm not an expert.

That's bogus. I don't buy it.

Yet he was drafted lower in a much weaker draft? That one year overseas must have made a huge difference in his stock...

We should all agree with the Cavs front office, because that makes for such interesting debate.

I hate seeing Meyers Leonard mentioned in any sort of scenario for the Cavs. He sucks, I don't care how well he measured out at the combine. He's soft.

they mentioned the U19 tournament where he completely dominated. i think Givony (draftexpress) mentioned as well that V would go 2nd overall in this draft...

also do you think after watching Kanter and Williams this year that V would still go 5th? i don't...

sometimes you have to disregard the cavs opinion and stick to your guns :)

So, these folks are saying that JV is a better center prospect than Drummond? Personally, I'd rather have Drummond. Not sure the U19 tourney was all that great of a test. Our centers were Meyers Leonard and Patric Young.

So was Z. Lol I don't even know how Leonard measured out at the combine because I don't think that really means much anyways. However, he does not suck... good passer and nice touch. Perfect complement for TT.

Probably.

I don't even get the question. He did go 5th, so what are you trying to say?

Leonard isn't half as physical as Z was
