Well, when an NBA owner puts a letter on the internet, for the whole world to see, guaranteeing that his team will win a title before LeBron... I mean, did we really think people would forget that that happened?

Meh. The only thing Dan Gilbert did wrong was being a fan of his team. He has dumped lands of money to right the ship. I find it laughable that National pundits are always vocal about owners that bleed their cities dry just to profiteer of the franchise they own.

And then on the flip side, they flame owners like Cuban and Gilbert who blow loads of money on their teams so they can win.

Bottom line is that Dan Gilbert is a fan. He had a reaction to what happened like every other fan. Then people twist his words into some racist plantation owner propaganda. Dan did what he set out to do and that was to say what Clevelanders were thinking. And he gained a lot of support from it.

Just turned on ESPN for a non-game broadcast for the first time in months, and it was PTI. The first thing i hear is, "What are the chances Dan Gilbert will apologize and congratulate LeBron?" Immediately changed the channel. Already starting.

Well, thats ESPN for ya. Involving a team that shouldn't even be involved just to spark interest and controversy. I mean we have nothing to to with Lebron James at this point in his career. Leave DG and the Cavs out of it.

What is "lands of money?" I have never heard that term before.

I found this funny.

Yeah, sorry. I'm on mobile. Obviously an autocorrect as I use the proper term "loads of money" later in the quote.

All good brother. I think you might have something here. "Lands of money" actually sounds bigger than loads.

Gilbert has been demonized in sports media, I guess because he is an outspoken multi-millionaire. Imagine if all the journalists who said a negative thing about LeBron in the past two years were expected to apologize for it... there would be a pretty long list and they didn't stand to lose hundreds of millions of dollars when they took a crack at LeBron. Fact of the matter is, LeBron deserved some criticism during The Decision and his preseason theatrics in Miami. LeBron himself seems to regret it since his popularity has never been the same.

LeBron James Is A Homecoming Queen, Says Charles Barkley - From Our Editors - SBNation.com

"If you’re successful, a lot of people aren’t going to like you. That’s just the way it is. I always used to use this analogy: Everybody hates the homecoming queen because she’s pretty. All the ugly girls hate the homecoming queen. And all the dumb kids hate the smart kids. That’s just the way it is. LeBron James, first of all he has to take some responsibility [for] the way he did the stuff last year leaving Cleveland, the decision, coming on stage talking about not five, not six, seven championships. So he deserves some blame, but like I say, he’s a great kid, he’s a great, great player. … If you look at his résumé right now, the only thing he’s missing is a championship, and he’s gonna get that done [Thursday]. And no telling how many championships they’re going to win. … I wish he had stayed in Cleveland, because those fans in Cleveland, man, they’re fantastic. They don’t even have real fans here in Miami, they’re front-runners. "

Everyone let the emotions get the best of them in that situation, and its understandable. People have the right to have a reaction.

I'm glad Chuck at least gave us respect where the respect is due.

Meanwhile, if the Heat somehow lose three in a row, which at this point is a hypothetical just the same as Miami winning one, there won't be enough egg to go around ESPN writers' faces for their recent comments, as opposed to one made two years ago.

For all of the silly stuff Barkley does on TNT, he's a straight shooter when it comes to hoops. I still laugh every time he calls Stockton the best point guard he has seen, and he is sitting right next to Magic and ex teammate Kenny Smith. Cracks me up every time.

I'm feeling it. PUt my money where my mouth is and placed a decent size bet on OKC straight up. Prepare for the start of one of the greatest choke jobs ever.

Not so sure they ever played together.
