OKC has home court and they have played much better as a team than the Heat have. Honestly don't see this one going past six games, and I would have said the same if it had been Boston. I really don't think either of those teams could have kept up with OKC. The biggest thing Miami has on OKC is experience.

Miami certainly has more experience, but I don't think it will play as much of a factor as some believe it will.

For OKC, Derek Fisher has five rings and this will be his eighth trip to the NBA Finals. Kendrick Perkins has one ring and this will be his third trip to the Finals.

On the flip side, this will be LeBron's third trip (no rings), Wade's third (one ring), Haslem's third (one ring), and Turiaf's second (no rings). Joel Anthony, Chris Bosh, Mario Chalmers, Juwan Howard, James Jones, Mike Miller, and Dexter Pittman were on last year's losing Finals team, so they will be making their second appearance.

This is where I think Fisher and Perkins have extra value to OKC. Fisher was considered the team leader in the locker room in LA and will surely provide a good influence for Durant, Westbrook, and Harden. Perkins is an excellent interior defender and someone that has done well against LeBron/Wade in the past.

Kendrick Perkins is awful and useless. He can D up a strong center, but that's about it, and luckily for the Heat, they don't have that.

But if he's awful and useless, then it should be good for OKC that they don't need him vs. the weak MIA frontcourt.

My biggest fear is that Bosh may be the deciding factor here. If he's completely healthy again, he'd have some fresh legs.
With all the prowess of Perkins and Ibaka, they don't match up that well against him, and he will draw them away from the paint.
Also, Bosh seems to be the glue guy for LBJ and Wade, he makes them a much better operating unit on the floor.

Finally, I'm not so high on Brooks as a coach who can make the necessary adjustments in such a series.

But I hope I am wrong.

Ibaka can't stay with Bosh? I thought he matched up decently well but maybe I'm wrong. You're probably right about him being the glue guy though.

I still think he's pretty good around the rim. The best thing he'll do is give some hard fouls to LeBron/Wade and make them think twice about taking it inside.

Ibaka is in my view not so spectacular as a man-to-man defender. He's good as a helpside defender, and I think he gets most of his blocks that way. Also, his eagerness to get blocks causes him to be out of position quite a bit. He's quick to recover, though.

They're still going to play him 25-30 minutes a game, because Scott Brooks does not make rotational adjustments.

People saying this is only going 5 are setting themselves up for disappointment. This is going at least 6.

I think winning in 5 is tough with the 2,3,2. If they can steal one in Miami, first 2 at home, easy 6 game series.
