This will be a good series. Regular season they split, 6 of the top 20 players in the NBA, if LeBron plays the way he has played all playoffs, Wade plays up to 70% of his capabilities, and Bosh plays the way he did in game 7 (not shooting and hitting threes, but being an effective floor spacer) then the Heat can make this a series for sure. I hope it is 7 games.

But you have to look from the other side too. Heat are probably the best team in the league to match up with the Thunder. Heat can be a good defensive team when they want to be, and they have the talent and athletic ability to run with the Thunder. No one can stop Durant, but LeBron is the best defender in the league suited to slow him down. LeBrons D on Durant is key in the series, and bench play is key. If Miamis atrocious bench actually plays well, they are hard to beat. And same with Thunder, if Harden plays really well and other role guys, they are hard to beat.

Offensively? It's been close.

Defensively? yeah, no.

Look at what he did to Pierce, Granger, and Melo. Those are three of the top 5 SF's in the NBA, and he made them look like Children.

It goes like this: the Heat steal Game 1, the Thunder even the series with a Game 4 victory in Miami, but after a Game 5 win, the Heat are in cold-blooded close-out mode and take Game 6 in OKC.

The Thunder are the more talented team, but I'm afraid LeBron won't be denied this year. He's ready. And when he attacks the basket, the refs will be quick with the whistle. This won't be fun to watch.

Really the best way to ensure a Heat loss is for Cleveland fans to cheer for them. Seriously just think about it Cleveland is the ultimate jinx. Let's bring the curse to Miami.

I think Durant is going to have a tough time getting good looks with Battier and LeBron guarding him. Wouldn't surprise me to see him struggle. Westbrook is going to have to play great for OKC to win IMO.

Pretty sure we didn't cheer for Miami last season & they lost..

I knew somebody would point out the failed logic behind my sarcastic post. Internet sarcasm is hard to pick up sometimes, and I didn't include a  to emphasise I guess.

I knew you were being sarcastic, I just felt like being a smart ass myself :chuckles:

I don't disagree with you on that one, but I would also like to say I think KD could get LeBron into some real foul trouble with his BS rip through move. Same can be said for LeBron getting Durant in foul trouble too I guess. That is going to be a sweet matchup.

What I do know is that while the Heat have someone they can put on Durant for 10 minutes a game, and can at least keep a hand in his face (Battier) the Thunder don't have that with LeBron because they need someone to guard Wade as well.

This is potentially the best Finals in a decade or so. Can't even begin to say how excited I am about this. There have been great teams here or there in the finals, but I feel that this might have the best amount of talent on both sides of the coin.

Sefoloshia and Harden are both capable of guarding Wade one on one. This might be the first series where the Heat 3 aren't going to be double teamed.

I think at the end of the day the team with the most points wins. I would also like to dispel any rumours that I have funded the hire of a new Heat massage therapist, Jonathan Vilma. He is simply an eager "associate" looking for part time work. Very eager indeed...

If I'm the Thunder, I wouldn't even be that concerned with James. He is going to get his regardless, but if they can slow down Wade, the Thunder will be in good shape. This is basically what Boston did, but they didn't quite have enough firepower on offense to overcome it.

On a side note, I can't wait to see Westbrook shit all over "Rio".
