2012 NBA Free Agents

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well, I guess our definition of what a chucker is differs. But in any event, I don't find a 42 percent shooting cacreer not an endorsement. And he averaged 40 percent from the field in his last two seasons, while having a Usage in excess of 27%. He's worse than his replacement at Philly, Nick Young, and a notorious chucker (in my book at least) like Corey Maggette.

That's even bad compared to chuxckers like Magette and

Lou Williams posted a PER of 20.55 last season, 9th among all point guards (not saying he's a point guard, but that's what he's listed as). We know the Cavaliers front office places a value on advanced stats and metrics so that's the first plus.

Combine that with Williams's comfortability and previous success as a scorer off the bench and the Cavaliers lack of scoring overall (we're all pretty much penciling in a completely unproven Dion Waiters to be our 2nd best scorer) and I would say its a good fit.

He's a 6'1" SG, that alone makes him a bad fit

If we added him our entire PG/SG rotation would be 6'4" and under

Lou is definitely a chucker.

Source confirms Boston coach Doc Rivers met with free agent shooting guard Courtney Lee on Saturday and that Houston - his former team - is interested in a possible sign-and-trade to send Lee to the Cs. The meeting was in Orlando, where Lee trains and where Rivers lives in the offseason, so it was a convenient connection. In addition to the suitors @ESPNSteinLine listed in his report on the meeting (Minnesota, Atlanta, Indiana, Dallas and Phoenix), source says Washington is in the mix. Chicago is also interested but a necessary sign-and-trade with the Bulls seems unlikely.

Brooklyn's started talks with RFA Brook Lopez on extension, sources tell Y! Could be to stay with Nets or used in sign-and-trade with Magic.

Marc J. Spears‏@SpearsNBAYahoo

Add the Clippers to teams interested in Rockets free agent C Marcus Camby, a source said. Nets to set up meeting. NY & MIA still interested.

Lee could be a solid get for Boston.

What I really like about Lou is he doesnt turn the ball over, he had around a 3.6 a/to ratio last year

Magic‬ are in talks w/the New Orleans ‪#Hornets‬ on a sign-and-trade involving Ryan Anderson, @orlandosentinel has learned.

The ‪#Magic‬ feel like they couldn't match an offer sheet Anderson was about to sign. Magic hope to get cap flexibility in a deal.

Anderson was one of the few players on their roster i liked...

edit:

Marc Stein confirms it:

I'm told New Orleans Hornets will acquire Ryan Anderson via sign-and-trade deal with Orlando. Deal is on verge of completion today

The Mavs, Rockets, Knicks, Hawks, Suns and Bucks have registered interest in free-agent guard Randy Foye, league source says.

The deadline for the Chicago Bulls to waive C.J. Watson is July 10. They're attempting to trade him before that date, according to sources.

Would be nice to get C.J. Watson to back up Kyrie, and it doesn't hurt he is a veteran... We should go after him if the price is right.

Stein said in his article that Anderson is going to get $8 million annually. That's actually not bad.

Certainly makes the Jeff Green deal look terrible.

Lee could be a solid get for Boston.

If they can add Lee along with already adding Jason Terry than I don't think they miss Ray Allen too much. Allen is about to turn 37. His D and other areas of his game are dropping off. Of course he can still shoot and will now be more of just a spot up perimeter shooter.

Yeah, they could sign Anthony Parker and get younger legs than Allen. I think the C's are OK.

They may not miss anything in terms of straight up talent, given where Allen is at in his career, but they will have to revamp their offense. Allen's ability to run off screens and shoot is still at an elite level in this league, and it was a core component of the C's offense. Even if they weren't going to it as often as they had in the past, just the fact that it existed was an advantage. (In theory, JET could fill that role, but he's not quite as good at it as Ray.)

It will be interesting to see how Doc changes things up.

The flip side is Doc can count on JET to attack the rim and create for other players, the way Ray couldn't the last 2-3 years.

True, but I also wonder how much JET has left in the tank. He's no spring chicken himself. Guy does turn 35 in a couple months after all.
