I'm just trying to figure out if paying Miller the money we'd allot to CJ Miles is worth it. He's a more efficient shooter, but the last time I checked he had become pretty terrible on D. I think the major play is more about him being tradable at the deadline.

The Cavs made a lucrative offer to Kyle Korver earlier in the offseason, so it only makes sense they'd take a run at Mike Miller. You're fooling yourself if you think CJ Miles is on the same planet as a hobbled Mike Miller. Mike Miller rains three's with his eyes closed and it helps he's well respected throughout the NBA......

The only way I take Mike Miller is if it's on a one year deal for very cheap. If the Cavs are responsible for paying his player option for 2014-15 if he picks it up then they shouldn't bother.

Grant's job is to explore all options,. Delaying the Bynum presser by a day or 2 is no big deal. The agreement is in place, but not signed.
Grant wants the option of putting in a bid by 5pm. and he would have to cut a player or two if we inked Bynum earlier in the day. This way the Miller thing can play out, without us cutting a player and then losing out on the claim. Grant is just doing his job here.

I would take The Whore back, if it meant winning a title, but Mike Miller has all the stink, without the same expected dividends.

we don't have to delay to do that. You only have to clear space to sign him if we win the waiver claim, and we pretty much have to release Miles to have enough space. Even if we try to get miller first, we still have to be under the cap to sign Bynum.
