2013 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Victor Martinez stayed with a host family through AA.

I know this isn't really a shock, but look at Lindor's fangraphs right now...

My Lord, what a prospect.

Like I stated before, I can't wait to see him next year, but he's going to have some crazy restrictions next year as far as pitch count and innings go again.

How's that Giovanni Soto dude doing that we got for Peralta? Haven't heard much about him this year.

I got a report from a scouting buddy that gave a glowing report about 17 year old catcher Francisco Mejia out in AZL. Outside of Frazier, he said Mejia is the top prospect for the AZL Indians by a wide margin. He's a plus defender behind the plate with a plus plus arm and a bat with gap power. He was a Latin American signee last year so it's a pretty aggressive assignment for him to be playing in Arizona already since he's basically a junior in HS (age-wise). Sean Brady, a LHP, has also gotten really good reports with a solid fastball and hammer curve; mature approach.

I said it when he was drafted, but Crockett has a chance to see the big league club this season.

Death to lefties.

Damn he's on the move.

23:3 K-to-BB ratio over 14.1 innings thus far

1 IP, 1 H, 2 K's in his Akron debut. There's some chatter Crockett will be converted into a SP in the offseason; that was the plan at UVA before a back injury sidelined him in the spring. He reminds me a bit of Patrick Corbin with a better slider. Hopefully Crockett can eventually get that same bump in velocity that Corbin got this year.....

Corbin may have the best slider in the NL, so I'm not sure I'd give him that much credit.

That said, making him a starter is certainly something to consider in the offseason. Right now he could factor into the playoff race as a LOOGY.

The AA season really only has ~2 weeks left so NBD if it's not a serious injury.
