It will get interesting tomorrow...

Yet, why give up #19 for Robinson? I would do Orlando second in 2014 and our second in 2015. They point to Chicago #20 but they got to give someone back to Houston which they don't want to take on. But why 19 for a #5 big behind Noel/Len, V, TT and Zeller? It maybe my greed, but San Antonio and Phoenix is the only teams with space in the later part of 1st which a 2nd 2nd rounder should help trump for the 1-3 picks difference in 31 and 28/30.

As for Marion, taking on $9 million is a lot for him. Thus, we should get more than moving up 6 spaces. It has to be for the guy that they target. I think 31 and 33 is more reasonable. Yet, going for Robinson may distrupt that plan as we can't give both the same picks (unless they both take a 2014 and 2015 seconds). I though rather have 13 and 19. Getting a Pope/Karasev and Nogueira/Adetokunbo seems better than having Robinson sit on the bench once Noel/Len starts getting minutes. We also may have enough ammo with 13 and 19 to go up and get a Adams, McCollum or Zeller.

Yet, playing both Dallas and Houston for cap space for Howard would be sweet.

People obviously havent reviewed this entire thread-Lloyds said the rumor is not true. Move on.

Chris Sheridan on 92.3 Will update

Cavs looking for lottery pick this year, future 1st, and nice young player.

He buys the Love talk. Thinks Cavs may have offered Tristan Dion and 1st.

Number one pick in this draft is nothing like what it will be next year.

He would trade assets for Love or Aldridge.

Cavs need a guy who can play the pick and pop and finish at the rim.

Varejao still has value in this league.

Len is number 1 for him because he is more accomplished offensively than Noel. Really feels the Cavs want an offensive big.

Noel is a far better defender than Len will ever be. Noel won't be able to play pick and pop game. Long ways to go on his offensive game. Thats why he thinks Grant is leaning toward Len.

Realizes a lot of people don't agree with them having Len at 1.

Who cares if a guy dominates in college? What kind of system is he playing in? How does he fit on your team? How does he fit with Kyrie Irving?

Len thinks he is better than Noel.

There isn't a no-brainer this year.

A guy with a torn ACL might go number 1. Evidence of how weak the draft is.

The CBA is going to create a whole new world in the NBA.

There will be a lot of movement.

Star players have a ton of power now. Look at Chris Paul and Doc Rivers.

Cavs are going to be picky in free agency. Not going to go after guys in their 30s.

Is Iguodala a nice player? Yes. Will he get you over the top? No. Not worth it.

The Cavs want to develop a unit together. Young players.

The Cavs are fun to watch. Kyrie is a super stud. Really fun to watch. Haven't been PGs you really want to watch.

Thinks they can trade Varejao around the deadline. Still has a lot of value.

Varejao won't be around when the Cavs reach their peak.

He's also the only one saying so. He also said last he heard was 2 weeks ago. I hear too many other people reporting on it to not give it at least some thought.

For the record, you're not gonna find anyone with as much talent and skill at 19 as Thomas Robinson. A year ago he was heavily in the mix to go #2 overall. I think he could be a heck of a piece off the bench.

Lloyd said it? Well, there's no way a beat writer has ever been fed false information before. Guess we should move on.

Yeah but he could easily be wrong. He's one of the better Cavs' sources, but he's by no means infallible, and the Cavs probably only tell him what they want him to share with the public anyway.

Also keep in mind that Houston's asking price for Robinson may have been higher two weeks ago before they realized the market for him wasn't there right now and were forced to lower it. Two weeks is a long time when it's two weeks right before the draft. Things can change dramatically in a short amount of time.

I dont recall a time when lloyd debunked a rumor which he has done frequently since he became the beat writer and it turned out to be true but you can believe The Bullshit Whisperer if you want.

Cleveland believes it has to get ahead of Milwaukee at 15, but it's possible Cavs need to get even higher to assure Karasev will be there.

Cavs’ Mike Brown wants UNLV’s Anthony Bennett at No. 1

June 26, 2013 by Scott 0 Comments

If Cleveland Cavaliers’ head coach Mike Brown was also serving as general manager, it appears that UNLV forward Anthony Bennett would be his selection with the first-overall pick in the impending 2013 NBA Draft.

ESPN’s Chad Ford, in a theory-based piece regarding the Cavs and the No. 1 pick, says that Brown is a big fan of the offensively gifted athlete from the Running Rebels.
“Head coach Mike Brown is pushing for Bennett,” writes Ford. “Brown’s son, Elijah, was recruited by UNLV last year (but ultimately signed with Butler) and Brown made visits with his son to watch the Running Rebels play. Brown fell in love with Bennett and wants to coach him. He has support in the Cavs’ front office, because Bennett might be the most offensively talented player of the top six in the draft and would add scoring punch to the Cavs’ offensively challenged frontcourt.”
While Bennett—6-foot-8, 240 pounds with a seven-foot wingspan and high-end leaping ability—is supremely gifted on the offensive side of the ball, the knock on him is that he is undersized and tends to get lost on defense. An explosive leaper who can also hit the mid-range shot, Bennett could easily wind up as the best player to come out of this draft. His fit with the Cavaliers, however, remains a huge question. Brown’s preference for the player undoubtedly raises an eyebrow given his position and profile 1 .

Thankfully Brown isn't the GM.
