Austin Carr

I love AC, and I think he is a good X's and O's guy, but I really don't trust his prospect evaluations. Honestly, with his schedule, I'd be surprised if he were even able to watch any of these guys play.

Also, he seems to think Noel has torn his ACL twice. I think Austin should just stick to announcing.

Edit, misread - I was skimming at work and thought I saw people excited for Marion =p

So what we're looking at is this...potentially...

Adding Thomas Robinson and Shawn Marion and still picking 1st and 13th.

I gotta say, it's not too shabby.

I'm still incredibly confused as to why anyone would want anything to do with a 35 year old Shawn Marion.

Nobody does, that's why we'd be getting the 13th pick just to take him

He reads the scouting reports on his cell phone during his rounds of golf lol.

Ford just released his latest Mock...I'll spare pasting the entire thing, but he added quick facts to each player and some of them are pretty ridiculous...

Nerlens Noel
Quick fact: The Kentucky Wildcats allowed 18.2 fewer points per 100 possessions in the games in which Noel played (excluding the game against Florida when he was injured).

Anthony Bennett
Quick fact: Bennett ranked eighth in the nation with 1.3 isolation points per play and did not commit a single turnover on such plays (min. 20 plays).

CJ McCollum
Quick fact: McCollum led the nation with 1.83 points per play and a 91.3 effective field goal percentage on catch-and-shoots.

Cody Zeller
Quick fact: Zeller shot 79.6 percent in transition, second highest in the nation.

Sergey Karasev
Quick fact: Karasev held his opposing shooters to a 28.6 field goal percentage on spot-ups, which ranked in the 95th percentile in all European competition (min. 100 plays).

Those were the ones that stood out (to me). Some interesting facts there.

Marion was still fairly productive last year, but this more about trading up to ensure they have the opportunity to draft Sergey Karsasev or Trey Burke if he falls.

BUT A TALLER, MORE ATHLETIC DANIEL GIBSON!

:chuckles:

Spoiler: The Bullshit Whisperer.

If Gibson had been taller and more athletic, he'd have been our starting shooting guard. He also would never have been available where we drafted him.

Renting a veteran SF for a year and receiving a 1st round pick for next to nothing. Please stop asking why we would trade for Marion

Austin Carr

I love A.C. Whenever you listen to him on TV it only seems like he talks in silly catchphrases. But any time he writes anything he always comes across knowledgeable and insightful, whether I agree with his assessments or not.

Yes...when I watched him play last year, it was clearly his lack of height and leaping ability that was holding him back from superstardom.

He'd still lack the ability to create his own shot, and really not having a second guy like that was always what killed us come the playoffs. Also, Gibson was undersized, but at least he had a bit of a dog in him. McLemore lacks that edge, which is one of the main reasons I don't care for him as a prospect (in addition to his many other limitations).

Was Kevin Pelton suggesting that Ben McLemore then, appears to be a rich man's Daniel Gibson?

We already have one of those. :chuckles:
