2014-15 Off-Season Thread (Moss Acquired - Page 16)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

The Indians have now hired two scouts from Baseball America this off-season (four in total now).

And honestly, there are few people I respect more than Clint given his tireless efforts across college baseball during his time at BA.

He's as legit as it gets on that scene, I'm glad the Indians were able to scoop him up.

In previous off seasons, the Indians have hired multiple writers/analysts from Baseball Prospectus too.

The Blue Jays will be paying a 37 year old Russell Martin $16.4 million. Laughable.

I don't think adding a 3B necessarily means giving up on Chisenhall. It might mean limiting his AB against LHP or a move to RF, or both. I do think the Indians need to do much better defensively at 3B if they plan on being a World Series contender.

I just think Swish has another mediocre years left in him. Those other guys are signed longer and seem to have less hope of ever being valuable. Swisher was so consistent for so long - just hard to believe he lost it that quickly.

Despite his shitty numbers the past 3 years, I would kill for a chance to trade for Ryan Howard. Plug him in at DH, and just let him hit.

As for Chiz, I love the guy. I think he still has room to grow, but if you can move him for good value...do it. I would be ok with keeping him, if he sucks slide Aviles over and use Ramirez or Lindor.

CF-Bourn
LF-Brantley
2B-Ramirez
1B-Santana
DH-Howard
C-Gomes
RF-Kipnes
SS-Lindor
3B- Chis/Aviles

Talk about a boom or bust lineup.

This makes some sense. Just opening up the DH flexibility might be worth taking on the worse player.

Getting Jimenez back, especially at his price, makes zero sense to me.

I really think the reporters are looking back at his numbers with us and the connection he had with Callaway and Cash so they think we could take another chance.

I won't even watch the team if we bring Ubaldo back. Holy crap.
