Honestly, if they're so intent on taking the 4 "best teams", Florida State wouldn't make it period.

It all depends though. If we come out next week & crush Minny/Wisconsin with Jones (I don't think it'll happen, but hypothetically speaking), it'd be tough not to say Ohio State still isn't 1 of the 4 best teams.

That type of decision making would really only take effect in a situation where they're judging one-loss teams. If Florida State finishes undefeated, they're in, as they should be. They aren't passing on an undefeated Power Five team.

There's some irony in Florida having a shot at potentially opening a door for Ohio State and (to this point) blowing it.

I didn't say they'd pass on Florida State (though not sure I agree that they should be in if undefeated).. I'm just stating that they're not a Top 4 college football team and that some things other than just the "the 4 best teams" play into the decision.

I get what you're saying now. I will say if they took top four regardless of record, we'd have way too much representation from the SEC.

We do disagree on Florida State though - undefeated in a Power Five conference should (and will) be an automatic.
