2014-2015 National Champs

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Six teams, top two get a first round bye. Five conference champions and an at large bid.

Seeds 3 and 4 get home games to overcome logistical issues.

I never understood why it took so many decades to even have a playoffs in college football and also don't understand why they decided to start with just 4 teams instead of 8. No matter who they pick today, there will be 2 teams who could argue they are the best team in the country. 8 teams is enough to solve this problem this year and every year and makes college football a ton more money with 4 extra playoff games. And they could adjust the seeding of 7 and 8 to avoid rematches in the first round.

I think 8 is too many. If we had 8 this year, we'd simply have rematches of MSU and Oregon and Bama and Miss State.

I'd like something similar to a NFL style 6 teams with Power 5 Conference Champs and a wild card.

Top 2 teams get byes.

All Power 5 champs get in.

The two top teams get rewarded(depending on how you feel about byes) similar to the BCS system.

One extra team that feels snubbed gets a shot.

I think 6 is best.

I'm not a fan in a field that small of giving conference champs an auto birth. Think about the rare upset in the conference title game where one team was in the shit side of the conference and came in with 4 or 5 losses (this happens regularly in the ACC). We don't need to give that team an automatic birth for being bad/mediocre most of the season and then winning one big game. If the field were bigger than 6 then fine.

I think it needs to go to 8. How people it's too many games for college kids when they have a field of 24 in the FCS is beyond me.

where are they announcing it. The espn show said they are announcing it, but they aren't showing it.

I see your point.

But the same time this isn't like a basketball tournament. The champions of each division would both be really good teams.

Look at the blowouts in the championship games this year for example.

Oh well. Everyone agrees 4 is bad.
