2014 Cleveland Browns

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The last time the Browns were in sole possession of first place in their division:

OJ was on trail.
Pokemon was just a gibberish word.
No on knew who Monica Lewinsky was.
Tupac was alive.
Humans were better than computers at chess.
Nintendo 64 didn't exist.
Woolworths was still in business.
Prince Charles and Princess Diana were still married.
The Titanic was still just a ship that sank...

Looking at the schedules, it will probably take 11 games to win the division and 10 plus a tiebreaker to make the playoffs. Actually it may take 12 for the division.

Either way Sunday against Houston is a must win.
We've lost to Jacksonville and have now watched the Steelers lose to the Jets and Bucs. Let's not look ahead, shall we?

He spent part of his childhood living in Cleveland and became & remains a hardcore fan.

He considers Cleveland his 2nd home.

Whoa whoa whoa, let's get this right.

He grew up in Amherst Ohio. That's right, folks, Amherst, home to Jerry Lawler, me, and that one time we pulled over Snoop Dog in his travel bus. Oh and Sandstone or some shit.

You're from Amherst?

I always thought your name meant "Am her ST (slave trainee.)"

I always had you pegged as a femdom guy because of that name. I feel really embarrassed about all those PMs I sent you a few weeks ago now.

Sincerely,

Rubberbaby

-Roger Maris still had the single season HR record.

For me, Roger Maris still has the single season HR record and Hank Aaron still has the career HR record. The numbers put up by PED-using cheaters don't count in my book. I'd venture a guess that most sports fans, if they're being honest with themselves, feel the exact same way.

One interesting story line that will come up this week is Hoyer vs. new starting Texans QB Ryan Mallet. Both of them battled it out for two years to be the "Brady protégé." I am thrilled Houston is making the change for this week, Mallet isn't as accurate as Fitzpatrick and doesn't read a defense as well as he should at this stage of development. Hopefully, Hoyer gets revenge for the Patriots cutting him loose in favor of this guy.

To be honest, I'm most interested in seeing how this O-line does against Clowney and Cushing.

We pretty much know what we have with Hoyer. A good game manager that needs run support and a clean pocket to get this offense a-hummin. He has shown improvement, and I'm not quite sure he has hit his ceiling yet. But he has been extremely consistent to this point, and that is probably his best asset.

If this line can stave off an aggressive pass rush, especially up the middle, I'll be confident this team can make a serious playoff push. However, I have a feeling we will be missing Alex Mack when the dust settles.

Ol' Hammerin Hank used PEDs too, if we're going to use the modern definition.

They just weren't called that back then.
