2014 Free Agency Period: News and Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Do you think Amundson gets a look at by the Cavs? Same type of player as AV but blocks shots. He would be an undersized center as he is a natural PF, but you can't have enough heart and hustle on a team.

My memory of that guy was before LeBron left. It's been a long time and he hasnt improved much

I think getting Mullens should be the priority over that due to able to do more on the court than this guy.
Mullens for $2-3M is still getting your money's worth than vet min Amundson come playoffs.

All we have left is the vet min. It is going to have to be a patch job until next year when we get the full MLE and BI Annual

espn mentions that we are among the teams that are interested in Shawn Marion. not sure how many more wing players we should acquire...

According to ESPN, several teams are expected to make offers for Marion if he decides to continue playing. The Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Oklahoma City Thunder and Charlotte Hornets are reportedly interested in the 36-year-old’s services.

As to the why, it's just a numbers game for him at this point. The Bucks have either big money or development time committed to Sanders, Ilyasova, Jabari and Giannis, all who will play at least some time at the PF and C positions. If we can pick up a talented young player who they're selling low on, you hop on and see what the price is.

they are actively shopping ilyasova, giannis has mostly played the 3 with a little at the 4, and sanders is a drug addict lunatic. to be shopping henson given the current state of their bigs is quite telling.

Sanders is locked in and are stuck with him one way or another. From what I gather from Bucks fans they are still hopeful of him. Henson is more like Sanders than a true 4 and they already have Zaza and another guy whose name I cant pronounce at center.

I'm seeing conflicting reports about moving Ilyasova. He is a proper stretch four despite his setbacks last season and the idea that they would move both of them doesn't pass the sniff test.

Howler is dead on about how Giannas and Parker can also be pushed into the 4 and further eat away his playing time. It is entirely reasonable to think they are moving him because his potential is valuable and they are afraid his stock might take a nose dive if he is the odd man out next season and gets less playing time.

That being said he isn't going to be that cheap and we are better off burning assets on a better fit or getting a bargain bin guy.

We already have lots of youth and potential to worry about hitting on.

I guess Marion would play a small ball four for the Cavs, but I think there are likely better uses of our roster spots (centers). I also think there are better options for him if he wants playing time. I feel like Atlanta would be a good situation for him.

I'm all for Ray Allen, but the Cavs really need to address the post. I would love to bring in Okafor and have him come off the bench.

Think back to 8 months ago and could you ever imagine asking yourself, "Damn this team really could use Tyler Zeller!" :chuckles:

I'd actually like Shawn Marion a lot, but I'd bet he can get quite a bit more than the vet minimum. He'd play the Battier role of playing small ball with him at the 4. It'd actually still help the big man rotation. AV and TT at C and Bennett, Marion, and some TT at PF.

He averaged 10 and 6 last year and shot 36% from 3. No chance he takes the vet min.

Marion's probably better defending PFs than all the power forwards on our roster

Jermaine O"Nale last year. I would love him at the vet min. Him and Allen. I dont think Powell gets signed.
