2015-2016 Around the NBA

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Thats why we are hoping the warriors face the thunder in the postseason

or wiggins is able to do some and lead his team to the playoffs to play the thunder

No true competitor joins a team he played against in the postseason

I think the Golden State thing is almost impossible now. Why ever do anything to mess with the chemistry of that group? Its incredible to say, but Durant would be a risk that Im not sure is worth the reward when youre already this good.

Just watched the Knicks-Rockets game and I have some thoughts:
1) Something still seems amiss with Houston. I know they won, but it was more of a result of New York's mishaps (more on that in a minute) than from their own gameplay.
2) James Harden is lucky they won. He missed a few huge free throws and relatively open shots.
3) Dwight ain't the same old Dwight.
4) Houston really needs to get Thornton and Capella more involved.
5) New York has a lot of young talent that plays like they are young. This includes Derek Fisher. A few bad playcalls out of timeouts, way too many turnovers, and way too many (pointless) fouls.
6) New York could not buy themselves a good shot come crunch time. Part of this was because of Beverly, but most of it was beyond-poor ball movement.
7) With that said, the Knicks were without arguably their best player. He could've really helped scoring the ball in crunch-time.
8) Porzingis is gonna be a stud. I've watched him a few times now and it is all too clear. I hope he can add on 15-20 pounds of muscle without losing too much athleticism. Right now he really is limited in offensive post ups, setting picks, defending physical bigs, and defending outside shooting. If he can bulk-up, three of those four will be solved. This guy really could become a more-athletic Dirk. If he doesn't bulk-up, though; or does bulk-up and looses a significant amount of athleticism, he will never reach his potential. It'll be best for him to treat this process slowly. Nonetheless, he understands how to best utilize his talent to win games.
9) I also think Jerian Grant is going to be a solid player. He's got to figure out how to distribute better and get open without the ball. He'll take a year or two but he's going to be a solid NBA player for a long time.
10) As much as I hate to say it, Knicks will have a very good team in the next two years. Maybe Phil Jackson isn't as goinking clueless as I thought he was as a GM.

8) I'm amazed. I though Porzingis would be Darko, Part Deux.
9) I was praying for Jerian Grant, in the draft. Thought he had "it". I know we weren't really looking to add a rookie, but he would have been the rookie to add.

I totally agree with you on both points. Still though, Porzingis has no muscle, and it's still early, an injury could derail his entire career. I also think he looks really good right now because people weren't prepared for how he plays. They thought he would be a stereotypical white big man and he's not, at least not yet.

On Jerian Grant, I absolutely agree. I loved him at Notre Dame. He's definitely a developmental player but he'll be very good in a few years.

Eh, screw that big hulk baby! I'll take a Porzingy rookie white boy dunk any day over that unskilled muscle obsessed whiner.

People keep wondering what the heck happened to the Rockets. I'm like what you do mean, this is a team centered around James Harden and Dwight Howard. Need I say more? They are the two most unlikable guys in the entire league (well behind Olynyk who should go die somewhere). That ticking time bomb was bound to blow up on them sooner or later.

I'm kinda antsy to watch the Lakers vs 76ers tomorrow.

Al Jefferson out two to three weeks with left calf strain.

Jazz have done a good job of slowing the game down against the dubs tonight.

You gotta find a way to get Green going if you're the Spurs. Manu and Tony just can't get their shots up against anyone like they used to be able to, and Leornard is still learning.

Strange night.. Chicago beats San Antonio, Atlanta beats Oklahoma City, and Boston beats Miami.
