Good friends with Urban and Bill Belichick, strong recruiter in South Florida and the mid-Atlantic. Only question is if he toned it down from his time in Tampa.

In any case, great hire. Doubt he stays very long with Buckeyes, but a solid recruiter, intense, great resume.... love the hiring.

I gained a lot of respect for Schiano after reading this MMQB article about him. I'm sure he made some mistakes in TB but I think he's a little misunderstood, at least the perception of him is misunderstood.
Unreal hire. Not surprising seeing as he's a true student of the game. Doubt he'll stick around for more than two years but his impact should be huge. Both Larry Johnson and Greg Schiano crootin in the Mid-Atlantic? Yikes! I wonder if this moves the needle for Gary at all?
